About the Role:

Fuse is seeking an experienced Events Project Director with a passion for Sport & Entertainment, to join a team delivering a major UEFA Champions League sponsorship.

The role can either be a full-time permanent position or a freelance contract (Sept-July annually).

With this role, you will have the opportunity to plan, oversee and deliver three high profile events, linked to the UEFA Champions League Final in Munich, alongside a dedicated events team.

The fully branded events consist of a welcome party, a highly produced corporate showcase (auditorium style) and a stadium hospitality suite design. Together they form an integral part of a wider 3-day UEFA Champions League guest programme, attended by 1200+ guests.

 

About You 

You will have a strong project management background in Major Events, with detailed working knowledge of production and event operations. The management of client relationships is key and the ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders is essential.

You will report into the guest programme Project Director and will have three direct reports and approx. 8 indirect reports on-site, so must be comfortable being in a leadership position and aiding team development. The wider team will be a mix of Fuse colleagues and freelancers.

The ideal candidate will have a positive can-do attitude and will be prepared to get involved in all aspects of project delivery. A working knowledge of football is preferred but not essential.

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Event Planning 

  • Acting as a senior contact and interface between client(s), client agencies, venue stakeholders, destination management companies (DMCs) and event suppliers
  • Close liaison with client, design & production agencies to begin early event development across all events as required  
  • Close liaison with other project workstream leads to ensure the smooth delivery of the overall guest experience  
  • Establishing all operational and creative deadlines relating to the events and ensuring they are adhered to
  • Helping to onboard three dedicated Event Directors to the project (one workstream lead per event)
  • Supporting and guiding the wider Events team throughout the project and ensuring that all agreed deadlines, submissions and artwork approvals are met
  • Venue contracting, as required
  • Supporting talent sourcing, contracting and management, as required
  • Planning and attending venue visits and client meetings, as and when necessary
  • Creation of client presentations and preparation of client documents, as necessary
  • Oversight of all event budgets, feeding into to them as required
  • Reporting to Project Director / clients on event finance/budgets as required
  • Support guest programme Project Director on other aspects of project delivery, as required
  • Collaborate with other Fuse UEFA Champions League teams to share knowledge and drive efficiencies where possible

Event Delivery 

  • Onsite presence (in Final host city) for approx. 7 days to oversee the preparation for all events, in line with all agreed deadlines and venue contracts
  • Onsite support and guidance throughout build and re-rig 
  • Onsite liaison between client(s), client agencies, venue stakeholders, appointed caterers, production agencies, H&S teams and other event suppliers
  • Ensure that health and safety standards are maintained throughout build, event and break down phases
  • Point of escalation for client, Fuse staff and any suppliers in the case of any event specific challenges

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience of managing high profile and complex events, with substantial budgets
  • A background in both project management and event production preferred
  • Excellent client management and relationship management skills and diplomacy
  • Experience in managing direct reports and a larger workforce on-site
  • A passion for sport and entertainment (working knowledge of football desirable)
  • Excellent attention to detail, yet ability to multi-task and think on your feet

Location

The role is based at Fuse, Omnicom Media Group offices in London (SE1 0SW) however there will be some international travel for site visits. Attendance at the UEFA Champions league Final for on-site delivery is essential (23 May – 2 June 2025).

Fuse offer flexible working, but you should expect to come into the office at least two to three days a week. Longer working days leading up to events should be expected.
