About the role

An excellent first step from practice into industry whereby the candidate would be the most technically up to date team member and be able to apply the financial reporting and audit experience learned in practice, across our business, and work in a collaborative, nurturing team environment, and in a dynamic and exciting media landscape.

The main purpose of the role is to report the UK Group’s financial reporting to Omnicom Media Group EMEA in the most efficient, accurate and timely manner, to track and clearly explain the UK’s financial performance, monitor its financial position, aid in the continuous improvement of the Group’s control environment and ensure we comply with statutory legislation.

Objectives/Responsibilities:

Financial reporting

· Support the Group FC in the review of agency monthly financial reporting (P&L and balance sheet and all supporting information and analysis) and challenge as appropriate.

· Preparation of the Group monthly consolidated financial reporting pack (USGAAP).

· Responsibility for the preparation of key agency balance sheet reconciliations. Flag, track and alert any issues in this area which impact on reporting and control.

· Provide input to the continuous improvement in reporting cycles (e.g., automation in lieu of manual tasks).

· Preparation of Group’s working capital submission and provide related analysis.

· Assist the Group FC in the preparation of the Group local statutory accounts (and preparation of subsidiary unaudited accounts (6 entities)).

· A key contact for the local and group audits, assisting in the gathering of audit evidence and queries.

· Review the intercompany aged debtors and creditors and follow these up across the Group on a timely basis.

Financial control

· Conduct the quarterly Sox testing in line with the requirements, including regular review of controls documentation.

· Work with the Group FC in providing accounting guidance to the wider finance team and support the SFSC management team on accounting and financial control matters.

· Assist in the preparation of the tax reporting (PSA, VAT and corporation tax, ITDC) and ensure consistent processes are followed (technical support provided by Omnicom corporate tax team).

Project work

· Support the Group FC on ad-hoc projects & continuous financial control improvements. The media landscape is constantly changing, so there is a constant need to ensure that finance is proactive rather than reactive, meaning there is always opportunity to lead value-add initiatives and projects. Recent examples include business partnering with the Technology team on an automated (Sarbanes Oxley compliant) off-boarding process.

· Ad-hoc support to SFSC Director / Group FD / FC / CFO.

Reporting into:

This role reports directly into the OMG UK Financial Controller.

Location:

· Bankside, 90-100 Southwark Street, London

· 50:50 office and non-office working across the month

Defining success

To be successful in this role, you will need to work collaboratively, with multiple stakeholders (EMEA network, agency finance teams, SFSC team and other Omnicom stakeholders, such as Treasury, Company Secretary and Tax), be able to prioritise the right amount of time to the most important deliverables and proactively seek out continuous improvements and work with the wider finance team to ensure that these are implemented.

Core Competencies (Behaviours and skills):

· Newly qualified accountant (ACA) with an audit background, significant controls experience / Sarbanes-Oxley experience desired

· Media experience would be a benefit, but not essential

· Excellent communication skills as there is a need to work collaboratively with key stakeholders such as the SFSC, agency finance teams and OMG EMEA

· Experienced in the preparation of consolidated financial statements

· Apply judgement / good time management/ ability to prioritise tasks;

· Highly motivated with a positive energy and can-do attitude;

· Organised, self-directed, and forward thinking with high technical standards;

· Excellent excel skills (comfortable dealing with multiple large spreadsheets and consolidating data).
