About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Strategist to join our growing – and multi award-winning - social department at MG OMD. A brand thinker with a deep passion for social and its unique place in understanding the culture our client’s customer connect within. This is a new role for someone who lives to solve business problems through collaboration and insight. With an opportunity to steer the overall department’s direction, as well as our client’s needs.

- Deep in the feeds so you aren’t just looking at how brands can follow trends – you help brands understand the behaviour behind them so that they can authentically play a role.
- A self-starter, who’ll take briefs from initial client conversation to content execution, navigating feedback and guiding teams like a pro.
- Keen to integrate across teams to create industry leading campaigns
- A passion for simplifying complex problems into clear and compelling POVs
Primary Skills Required:
- Experience developing brand, campaign and content strategies from insight through to directing the creative development and then measuring results
- Experience in digesting, interpreting and responding to client briefs in a high-paced environment both working alone and, in a team
- Ability to translate research and data into meaningful insights, including understanding of audience research, platform insights and social listening tools
- Ability to use tools such as brandwatch, taggr, sprout to generate audience insights and social listening reports to inform content strategies
- Strong client facing experience and presentation pitching abilities in a strategic capacity leading the social direction
- A robust and extensive understanding of Social Media channels and creative best practices with strong ability to communicate and apply them (TikTok, Meta, Snap, Pinterest, YouTube, Reddit)
- Able to manage upwards to ensure you have everything you need to work independently, and any issues are communicated in good time with clarity
- Ability to connect social to clients wider marketing mix, strategies and priorities. Clearly voicing the unique opportunity for the channel and how it can deliver through the funnel results
- Develop measurement frameworks that ladder back to the strategy and the client’s business and marketing objectives including experience with BLS, econometrics and illustrating ROI
- Understand the culture of brand’s audiences, how that manifests through social and therefore how to create a role for the brand within it
- Lead quick-turn research to unlock competitive, category and audience insights
- Contribute to the management and mentorship of junior team members
- Ability to elevate thinking beyond tactics to bigger, bolder ways in
- Proficiency in research and social listening tools
- Developing strong relationships with key strategic clients, colleagues, agency partners, and suppliers to gain their trust, respect, and confidence
- Ensuring all our work is based on insight and accurately measured in PCAs
- Seeking potential opportunities with the agency’s client base and proactively pitching projects / campaigns to meet their objectives
- Collaborating closely with the Head of Paid Social to ensure our strategy is aligned and measured effectively
