Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and explore novel battery materials for Gotion’s next generation battery products
  • Responsible for the detailed feasibility study and risk analysis of various battery technologies
  • Collaborate with internal cell technology and cell engineering teams to validate and scale the technologies
  • Act as the battery materials expert interfacing with internal teams, external vendors, and customers

Required Qualifications: (3-5 key points required)

  • BS/MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, Materials Science & Engineering, and related fields
  • 3+ year's of experience with battery materials synthesis and processing techniques including solid-state synthesis, high-temperature calcination, wet-chemical techniques.
  • Experience with materials characterization techniques including: XRD, BET, SEM, PSA, TGA 
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, scrappiness and ability to interact with other functions in a cross-disciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience with statistical analysis, statistical process control and experimental design.
  • Experience with material

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, Materials Science & Engineering, and related fields
  • Experience with battery materials synthesis and processing techniques including solid-state synthesis, high-temperature calcination, wet-chemical techniques
