We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our legal team as a Legal Counsel - Litigation & Arbitration. As a key member of our legal team, you will be responsible for providing legal support and advice on investment-related matters to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You will work closely with various internal stakeholders, including investment managers, finance, and senior executives, to facilitate and guide investment transactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of Gotion's litigation and arbitration matters, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial phases.
- Develop and implement litigation strategy in collaboration with external counsel, considering cost-benefit analysis and risk management.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including executives and managers, regarding the legal status and potential outcomes of ongoing litigation and arbitration cases.
- Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and briefs, ensuring adherence to legal standards and internal guidelines.
- Conduct legal research and analyze relevant case law, statutes, and regulations to support litigation and arbitration strategy.
- Manage and monitor external counsel relationships by providing clear instructions, gathering information, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Prepare and present oral arguments before state, federal, and arbitration tribunals within the scope of their authority.
- Represent Gotion in simple court cases as authorized by the State Bar or other governing body.
- Stay up-to-date on legal developments relevant to litigation and arbitration, including changes in laws, procedures, and court rules.
- Identify and manage litigation risks proactively, minimizing potential impact on Gotion's operations and reputation.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical obligations related to litigation and arbitration matters.
Required Qualifications:
- A Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent degree from a reputable law school.
- Admission to the California or New York bar is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience within the Manufacturing Industry
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts effectively and influence key stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, with a high level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
Base pay is one part of our total compensation package at Gotion, and is determined within a range. This provides you with the opportunity to progress as you grow and advance your career at Gotion. The base pay range for this role is shown below, and will depend on your skills, qualifications, experiences, and location.
