Job Description:

Reporting to a Sr. Director, People Partners on Zscaler’s APJ People and Culture team, you will be part of a scaling people organization, collaborating with various functional areas to implement People and Culture best practices, drive excellence, and execute programs aligned to business growth.

In this role, you will be partnered with multiple business units in our Japan market supporting Japan Area VP, managers and employees in the Tokyo office but also working closely with colleagues regionally and worldwide to deliver an exceptional employee experience. 

You will be engaged with employees and managers to advise on all day-to-day issues and life-cycle areas. The successful candidate will be naturally curious and proactively dig into data using analytics to provide input on solutions that help to grow and scale the business. You will have the opportunity to execute on strategic people initiatives in partnership with the APJ BP and aligned executives in areas like Organization Design, Total Rewards, Employee Engagement, Retention, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, Performance Management, Talent & Leadership Development.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a liaison between business units and the Center of Excellence to achieve talent, organization, and business objectives. 
  • Partners with business leaders to drive the people agenda and build the organization needed to deliver business results and increase shareholder value. 
  • Coach’s leaders and uses diagnostic insights to support internal clients. Translates business strategies into people and organizational priorities and helps to drive strategy clarity and alignment. Implements and supports strategic talent management solutions (e.g., talent movement, talent development plans, diversity, and inclusion plans) by collaborating and sharing business insights with internal partners (e.g., Talent Management, Diversity and Inclusion, Talent Acquisition teams)
  • Partners with Human Resources People Consultant to guide employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues but is not closely involved in day-today handling and investigation of employee relations issues. 
  • Perform research and data analysis as needed across various projects (e.g. diversity program, leader report outs, engagement data, business / talent metrics & improvement areas)
  • Responsive resolution and coaching to day-to-day employee issues.
  • Drive constant improvement, finding opportunities to scale and transform the People function.
  • Strong project management and follow through for program implementation.
  • Support BPs and managers on ER cases and PIP’s and gather employee feedback as needed.
  • Conduct exit meetings to understand the employee experience, translate results to recommend changes and improvements, bring awareness to trends and potential issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 12-15 years relevant People and Culture (HR) experience assisting with all employee lifecycle processes - hiring, promotions, performance management, terminations in a complex, high volume, high growth environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with high proficiency in Microsoft and G-Suite applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint, as well as experience with HR systems
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field or equivalent experience
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management and employees, approachable, great listening skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills  
  • Highly organized, operates with high level accuracy and attention to detail; ability to present facts and recommendations in a clear and concise manner. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous situations with business partners to drive resolution. 
  • Self-starter mentality who can organize information, work actively to bring solutions to closure 
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Intellectually curious with a desire to have positive impact.
