Job Description

The Cloud Ops team is responsible for keeping the engines running at peak performance. On any given day, the Zscaler cloud processes tens of billions of transactions — scanning a petabyte of data — for 15 million users around the world. The transaction volume on the Zscaler cloud is growing significantly every quarter, yet the cloud’s overall stability just continues to improve, and that is directly attributable to the Cloud Ops team’s deep expertise and its dedication to reliability, availability, and scalability. Responsibilities:

  • Represent the Principal Network Engineer in Japan
  • You will be a member of Zscaler’s global network engineering team and be responsible for deploying, operating, monitoring, and supporting the Zscaler worldwide production network inside multiple datacenters.
  • The ideal candidate has a proven track record of operating enterprise or telecom data center networks, and is a creative thinker, self-starter, problem solver, learner, and is motivated by engineering excellence.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Native Japanese speaker and fluent English.
  • Organizational skills and experience working with ticketing and inventory systems.
  • Experience in remote Data Centre operations.
  • 8-10 years of experience with high-speed fiber Ethernet networks.
  • Expert level hands-on experience in BGP routing operation, design, and troubleshooting in both IPv4 and IPv6 for large scale Enterprise or Telecom networks.
  • Deep knowledge of DNS, HTTPS, GRE, and IPsec protocols with long-term hands-on troubleshooting experience
  • Real life experience troubleshooting L2 and L3 Fiber Ethernet networks.
  • Hands-on experience and deep knowledge in IP-packet analysis using WireShark.
  • Deep knowledge on Unix/Linux/FreeBSD and Network equipment and the functions they perform.
  • Familiar with Unix Shell scripts. Python and Perl may be a plus but not mandatory.
  • JNCIP-ENT or CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure or related certifications may be a plus but not mandatory.
  • Provide technical coach to other network engineers
  • Lead conversations and meetings with the business side in both English and Japanese.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines and changing priorities.
