Position: Senior Business Analyst – Workday

Location: San Jose, California or Remote within United States

The Senior Business Analyst – Workday Platform, is  accountable for creating and delivering scalable and impactful technology solutions to enable our People & Culture (HR) function. This individual will lead and drive the implementation, integration and optimization of the HR technology stack in alignment with the vision of the HR programs, business processes and policy strategies. This role will be working with primary applications such as Workday, Greenhouse ATS, and related applications. The ideal candidate will have deep process understanding of HR operations and be hands-on with Workday platform configurations, integrations and extensions.  They will have the ability to drive enhancement projects, architect efficient processes and systems, build consensus and provide direction across stakeholders. They are a hands-on subject matter expert capable of delivering the technology solutions required to solve complex business challenges.

Responsibilities/What You’ll Do:

  • Meet with business leaders, decision-makers, and end users to understand problem statements and gather requirements.  Facilitate these discussions at both detail and summary levels.
  • Be a thought partner to the business team and IT in designing highly scalable solutions.
  • Lead HRIS system related projects, enhancements, and process redesigns, coordinating schedules and actions across business and IT stakeholders.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to ensure that the project roadmap continuously reflects business priorities as projects and business needs change
  • Manage HR platforms with supporting data integrations and system authentication, ensuring system stability, security and privacy compliance, design for scale and expeditious resolution for high-impact issues.
  • Facilitate configuration evaluation and work to ensure consistent, efficient use of each module, and innovative use of technology
  • Develop detailed test plans, test scripts, and execute testing to deliver a thorough, bug free solution.
  • Build and execute detailed implementation plans including discovery, design, QA/test, deploy and support leveraging agile methodologies
  • Use data to analyze issues, categorize defects and prioritize enhancement efforts
  • Respond proactively to user questions/issues and implement new processes or improve existing ones. This includes interacting with cross-functional business units to define requirements and understand both upstream and downstream processes and system changes and impacts 
  • Documents systems, processes and planned changes for both IT controls as well as business user and executive communications
  • Maintain strong relationships based on trust and transparency with primary business stakeholders and cross functional teams.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4+ years of functional and technical experience in implementing, managing and optimizing Workday systems in a live environment, including proficiency in: Onboarding, Performance, Talent, Succession, Core HR, Compensation, Absence & Time Off, Security, Integrations/EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio.
  • A plus if the candidate has proficiency in: People Analytics, Extend, Learning, Payroll, Benefits, Prism Insights, Time Tracking.
  • Minimum of 8 year of IT industry experience in complete software development life cycle process including System Analysis, Process Design, Testing, Implementation and Documentation
  • Strong understanding and experience of core HCM business processes
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and fast changing environment with an ability to adapt as needed
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical problems
  • Ability to manage shifting responsibilities in a dynamic and cross-functional teamwork environment
  • Ability to use data to analyze problems and prioritize efforts
  • Track record of leading and driving complex HRIS projects
  • Excellent leadership and project delivery skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Highly self-motivated and directed by being a great team player 
  • Keen attention to details 
  • A plus if the candidate has experience in Agile development processes
  • 4-year degree BS/BA in a technical, business or other analytical field required

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range
$105,000$150,000 USD
