As a Financial Accountant in our European Financial Reporting team, you’ll be helping us to create and maintain best in class financial statutory reports that help us share our story with our investors and market. Come and join us! 

About the opportunity:

This is an amazing opportunity for you if you have recently completed your ACA or ACCA accounting qualification, in either an audit role or one that involved both audit and accounting, and you are looking for your first role in a hyper growth business. 

It’s also for you if you are someone who has recently qualified and made a move into a Financial Accounting role but you're looking to consolidate your experience in a faster paced, more agile environment where there are genuine career opportunities available. 

Reporting into one of our Senior Finance Managers for Europe, you’ll be part of a much larger, highly experienced and credible team of Finance professionals.

Your role will be hands-on, primarily focused on financial control and legal entity accounting for three of our key European entities. In addition to managing the typical monthly, bi annual and annual reporting cycles you’ll also have the opportunity to be involved with exciting global projects that the wider team currently have underway.

On  a day to day basis you’ll be responsible for:

  • Working closely with our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team on month end reconciliations and journal posting to contribute to the close of the monthly management accounts
  • Collaborating with our local operational teams for your legal entity, to focus to ensure you have a thorough understanding of all activity posted in the ledger
  • Managing the relationship with our audit partners in respect of all year end related activities plus any ad hoc queries that may arise. This includes efficiently fulfilling all of their requests to closure
  • Conducting monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis, providing relevant commentary
  • Highlighting trends or areas of concern for escalation or further investigation
  • Keeping abreast of changes to IFRS and local accounting statutory requirements, to ensure we maintain compliance with all regulations
  • Ensure all processes that feed into Group reporting requirements are followed

To be considered for our Financial Accountant, Europe role you will need to have:

  • A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA or ACCA)
  • Excellent organisational skills and adherence to meeting deadlines
  • Working knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS), and if possible also local GAAP
  • A self starting and growth mindset, with capability to work independently as well as a genuine desire to learn from and work cohesively as part of a team in a fast paced, agile environment
  • A dedicated focus on continuous improvement; always looking for ways to improve and drive progress within your own work and across the wider team
