Position: Direct Tax Analyst

The opportunity:

An exciting opportunity to join the Tax Team of a dynamic, fast growing, technology business, supporting the expansion of its multi-jurisdictional operations and activities. This role will play a critical role in ensuring the Group meets all its global compliance, reporting and dependent obligations and, supports the business in its ongoing growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for managing the outsourced service providers to ensure timely and accurate local country compliance with support from the wider direct tax team
  • Support the international and employment tax teams across all compliance and project areas
  • Support for the tax reporting process under IFRS and local GAAP
  • Assist the direct tax senior manager in the outsourced R&D reporting process and build improvements to the current process with the business
  • Assist the employment tax senior manager in the annual PSA reporting and payment process, together with maintaining controls documentation
  • Maintain the tax risk register for direct tax with input from the wider team
  • Operate as an ambassador for the tax department, driving process improvements and greater awareness of tax sensitive areas through proactive engagement with the business.
  • Assist in the ongoing design of suitable Tax Controls and Governance framework.

Required skills and experience:

  • Professional tax qualification beneficial but not essential
  • Very comfortable with managing, processing and analysing large amounts of data
  • Support available for obtaining relevant tax qualification
  • Previous experience of corporate tax with an awareness of employment taxes 
  • Can operate in an entrepreneurial operation undergoing tremendous growth
  • Can maintain project management on multiple strategic initiatives 
  • Ability to work both effectively within a team and alone
  • Great communicator across multiple business areas and levels
  • Excellent attention to detail, good judgement showing logical data-based decision making, and a hands-on approach
  • Drive to continually improve processes and seek new challenges
  • The ability to work under tight deadlines, managing multiple stakeholders (both internal and external) whilst retaining integrity and attention to detail
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
