When you first think about Deliveroo, you probably think of getting great food to your house in less than half an hour.  Awesome right? But behind the scenes is the real story. This story is one of high growth, huge challenges and an enormous opportunity ahead of us. It began with our founder Will, arriving in London over 5 years ago and finding it almost impossible to order great food, despite the wealth of incredible restaurants in the city.  Fast forward 5 years and we operate in 13 countries with over 50,000 riders who deliver orders from 50,000 restaurants in over 200 cities worldwide.

We work with riders, restaurants and consumers. We operate one of the most complex three sided marketplaces in the world and we do this in real time. Millions of customers and thousands of restaurants and riders rely on us to match them within milliseconds. The algorithms behind that marketplace are the secret sauce that allow us to deliver our orders in under 30 minutes.


And we’re just getting started

The scale of the opportunity ahead of us is immense. The global food market is valued at £7.7 trillion but only 1% of it is currently online. Contrast that with the digital disruption of countless other industries - from banking and travel to retail and communications - it’s clear that our journey in the food sector has only just begun.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for leading a team of Account Managers with a focus on driving growth and building lasting relationships with our top restaurant partners. Your team will be geographically dispersed, which means you’ll have top-notch emotional intelligence and communication skills, both internally and externally. Reporting to the Head of Account Management, you’ll be responsible for communicating business goals and strategies to your team and ensuring their implementation is in line with our wider commercial goals. At the same time, you’ll lead by example as an expert relationship manager and have your own portfolio of accounts to develop and grow. 

The role will involve:

  • Leading a team of 8-9 Account Managers. You’ll be a point of escalation where required and will be comfortable communicating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels;
  • Taking the lead on communicating and implementing national processes to drive efficiencies within the team;
  • Responsibility for communicating internal priorities and keeping the team on track and up-to-date with our commercial goals;
  • Management and growth of your own portfolio of top tier accounts.


  • 3-5 years experience in an Account Management role where you have had to manage numerous clients;
  • Recent experience leading a team;
  • Comfortable working at all levels. You must be a team player and able to galvanise support from colleagues across departments and cities;
  • Outgoing and a strong communicator whether face-to-face, through phone or email;
  • You’re able to think strategically, validate your assumptions with data, and then execute quickly on your plans;
  • Agile and comfortable with ambiguity. We move fast at Deliveroo, and you’ll be able to ensure your team does the same;
  • Some domestic travel to our other offices across Australia will be required.
