Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with a strong focus on data visualization to join our Business Intelligence team. This role will be pivotal in supporting our reporting needs and providing data-driven insights that will fuel decision-making across all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will be proficient in visual analytics tools such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau, and will have a proven track record of manipulating large datasets to create clear, impactful visualizations and reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines to support ongoing analytics and reporting needs.
  • Create and manage dashboards and visual reports using Looker (preferred), Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Work closely with various stakeholders to understand their data visualization needs and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all deliverables.
  • Optimize data retrieval and develop dashboard widgets and integrations as required.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members on data visualization best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a data engineering or similar role with a significant focus on data visualization.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Extensive experience with at least one major visualization tool (Looker preferred, Tableau, or Power BI).
  • Experience in building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and ETL processes
  • Data Visual Story Telling
