This is Adyen
Adyen is the payments platform of choice for the world's leading companies, delivering frictionless payments across online, mobile, and in-store channels. Our team members are motivated individuals that help each other do remarkable things every day. We face unique technical challenges at scale and we solve those as a team. And together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that transform the way the world pays.
We took an unobvious approach to starting a payments company, building a platform from scratch. Now, Adyen serves the world's brightest companies like Facebook, Uber, L'Oreal, Casper, Bonobos, and Spotify.
Android Software Engineer
Adyen is looking for full-time Android Software Engineers to help us conquer the world of mobile and Point of Sale payments. You'll be working in a young and motivated team with a lot of room to start new initiatives and take ownership. Besides having an open and entrepreneurial mindset, we expect you to be experienced in Android development, both from an implementation and architectural point of view. Join us on the journey of reimagining the way people pay on mobile and take your part in revolutionising the payment industry!
What you’ll do
Within the Checkout team, we focus on providing integrations to help our merchants accept payments on their website and in their app. In your role, you will be involved in projects related to the development and maintenance of such payment acceptance SDKs. Your focus will be on front-end technologies, but we also expect you to be familiar with backend technologies, when required to complete end-to-end functionality. We expect you to have advanced knowledge of the Android platform and to be confident in discussions with the current team on architecture, security and workflow.
Point of Sale
At Point of Sale, we are building multi-purpose devices that support accepting payments on the Adyen payments platform, while also helping merchants conduct a range of business functions from a single device. For example, install apps so that you can operate the cash register, check what's in stock, update the inventory, check the shopper's previous orders, and run your loyalty program from the same device that you use for accepting payments. You will be focusing on building a platform that facilitates these functions, such as device management and the payment functionality, using technologies such as Kotlin, Hilt, and Flow.
Who you are
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Android development (Java and Kotlin).
- Must have a keen eye for detail and care passionately about writing robust and scalable code, while remaining pragmatic in our demanding and ever changing environment.
- Able to identify and resolve issues and bugs over a full stack environment.
- Team player: Collaborate with other developers, designers, data analysts and the UX team.
- Enthusiastic to investigate new technical possibilities yet able to work within existing frameworks.
- Self disciplined and enjoys working at a fast-pace whilst managing and prioritizing goals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- For the Checkout team experience with server side development and building frameworks used by other developers is a plus.
- For the POS team experience with dedicated devices, Hilt, Coroutines and Flow is a plus.
