Compliance Escalations Lead

For our fast-paced Compliance Escalations Team, we are looking for an experienced people leader with a strong understanding of the regulatory obligations that Adyen faces as a financial institution. In this role, you will guide and support a high-performance team of Compliance Officers, who focus on managing the integrity risks framework around our customers’ setups (e.g. platforms) and Products / Services across all Adyen’s service lines (e.g. acquiring, issuing, bank accounts), as well as the Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes involved. Your experience in process optimisation will help to scale the end-to-end EDD process. The successful candidate demonstrates strong leadership skills, the ability to set goals and drive results and has excellent verbal- and written communication skills.

What you’ll do

  • Lead a high-performance team of 8 Compliance Specialists who act as a gatekeeper to prevent Adyen to be exposed to integrity risks outside of the risk appetite;
  • Monitoring and optimising Adyen’s advanced Compliance framework for further exponential growth;
  • Initiate, drive and deliver projects that will allow Adyen to scale its Compliance processes;
  • Set the team up for success by establishing clear goals and monitoring qualitative and timely execution, while celebrating successes as we reach towards achieving our full potential as a leader in this industry;
  • Cross-functional collaboration with the wider compliance- and regulatory team, commercial- and operational teams, acting as a linking pin to achieve common objectives;

Who you are 

  • You have 4+ years of leadership experience, which includes mentoring- and developing team members, drive the team’s performance and provide feedback and support as needed;
  • You bring strong, applicable knowledge of the regulatory environment in which Adyen operates as a global acquirer;
  • You bring 3+ years of work experience in or have had exposure to Compliance in financial services, FinTech or Consultancy;
  • Your project management experience allows you to take full ownership and guide the team to achieve long-term objectives;
  • Your analytical- and communication skills allow you to structure and simplify complexity on a daily basis;
  • You have solid interpersonal skills to communicate and interact with both internal and external stakeholders from varying disciplines and cultures;

Please note that this role is a full-time position in Amsterdam. It will require a relocation in case you live outside of the Netherlands.
