Role Overview: 

As the VP of Infrastructure, you will play a pivotal role in building the future of financial and compliance technology for the world's leading companies at Adyen. This is a unique opportunity to drive innovation, define cutting-edge technology-driven financial services, and manage global multidisciplinary teams of Platform Engineers, DataOps Engineers, and Infrastructure Engineers. As the VP of Infrastructure, you manage the operations of Adyen's private cloud and infrastructure. 

You will be responsible for building and maintaining a global, scalable, maintainable, and resilient (private) cloud infrastructure architecture within Adyen. You will manage a global team of managers and technical leaders and provide them with strategic direction, empower them, and drive for results. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive engineering strategy aligned with Adyen global goals and objectives, driving innovation, technical excellence, and scalability
  • Set and maintain  strategic direction and deliver the private cloud and core infrastructure foundation for all of Adyen
  • Lead and inspire a diverse and inclusive team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship and fostering a collaborative and a high-performance culture
  • Work closely with other engineering leaders to help deliver software projects and address development pain points 
  • Infrastructure automation and operations infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, automation, monitoring, observability, asset management, lifecycle management
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and evaluate their potential application to our product offerings
  • Manage engineering budgets, vendor management, resource allocation, and capacity planning to optimize productivity and deliver results within defined timelines
  • Participate in and continually improve our incident management process.

Your experience:

  • Proven experience as a technology leader in a similar capacity, ideally as a VP of Engineering or Director of Engineering, with a successful track record of delivering complex projects and driving innovation
  • Strong technical background, preferably with hands-on experience in infrastructure or related fields
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, develop, and keep high-performing teams
  • Strategic mindset and the ability to align engineering efforts with overall business goals, while also driving technical excellence and innovation
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving results and meeting objectives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience partnering closely with Product teams is preferable
  • Domain expertise across the Infrastructure environment (network, storage, databases, (private) cloud etc.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the regulatory requirements 
  • Experience running and supporting infrastructure teams (around 100+ people).
