The team:

This team is located in our Platform Engineering Solution in Amsterdam. The purpose of Platform Engineering is to enable Adyen engineers to autonomously build and support secure, scalable and reliable applications with high speed and quality through a common technology ecosystem.

As the team lead for our Edge and Traffic Management team in Amsterdam, you will build, mentor, and coach a diverse, talented team at delivering critical infrastructure services for our core platform. 

You are comfortable streamlining the team's engineering operations, refining product requirements together with product and engineers and encouraging effective collaboration.

 

What will you do:

  • Work cross-functionally with product, different regions, SRE teams, and other infrastructure teams within the Platform Engineering in Adyen 
  • Set clear individual and team goals that align with our strategic engineering ambitions in close collaboration with the product manager
  • Directly managing the team, from a performance management perspective 
  • Responsible for maintaining and automating the load balancer stack and our internal CDN
  • Driving technical directions 
  • Will drive innovations and improvement on our Adyen Platform 

Who you are: 

  • Experienced in coaching and mentoring engineering talent
  • Experienced in leading technical projects in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience in Load Balancing and Reverse Proxies (e.g., HAProxy)
  • Networking protocols Layer 3-7 of the OSI model

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with standard IT security practices (e.g., encryption, certificates, key management).
  • Familiarity with Internetworking and BGP
  • High-level programming (e.g., Golang, Python, Shell)
  • Experience in performance analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting.
