We're looking for an experienced Senior Product Counsel to join our Legal team. We prefer to have someone onsite 2 times per week in San Jose, CA or remote in the Pacific Time Zone. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Product & Privacy Legal, you will:
- Support new product releases, regulatory assessments, adoption of novel technologies (e.g., generative AI, large language model), and other product-related programs.
- Partner with teams (product management, privacy, security, cloud operations, and compliance) to address new privacy, AI/ML, security, and regulatory requirements in Zscaler's products and services.
- Create and lead trainings and presentations on product due diligence, generative AI best practices, data privacy, and other relevant topics.
- Identify, design, and implement processes that support and keep pace with product innovations while ensuring compliance with internal risk management.
- Structure, draft, and negotiate technology, distribution, licensing, and other commercial agreements related to the introduction of new products and features.
What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- 6+ years in product and privacy counseling experience in-house, or a combination of both in-house and private practice – with at least 3 of those years in a product legal role at a cloud, software, or SaaS technology company.
- Experience supporting product management and engineering partners at technology companies.
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Knowledge in as many of the following areas as possible: data privacy, AI governance, open-source software, intellectual property, contract negotiation, and cloud computing.
- Experience leading complex projects involving stakeholders across subject matter domains.
- Identify, differentiate, and weigh conflicting risks practically and find creative solutions to novel, complex problems.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.
