Lead UI Designer (f/m/div)

Our design team in Germany combines technology and experience design to create emotive yet conversion-focused ideas, products and campaigns at scale and speed. Our specialty are digital experiences and communication that change perceptions and shape new behaviors to make a difference in the market. Our clients include nationally and internationally recognized brands such as Google, C&A, smart, Beiersdorf and many others.
JOB PURPOSE
For this vacancy we’re looking for a seasoned Lead UI designer that wants to build on the customer experience of a leading global player in the travel industry for a period of at least 18 months. You will be working in a dedicated project team with a mix of designers, developers and researchers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Bring experience and a strategic mindset that inspires the project team and helps sharpen the product vision;
- Translate strategy and UX into pixel-perfect designs and UI animations;
- Balancing business and brand goals as well as user and data insights to make informed but bold decisions;
- Presenting your work to key stakeholders while collecting and prioritizing feedback;
- Working back-to-back with UX designers to help shape the final user experience;
- Work closely with content creators and developers on ensuring the quality of the final product;
- Leading and mentoring a team of fellow UI designers;
- Occasional travel to Frankfurt and Zurich or in-person meets and sessions is required.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 6+ years of experience as an UI Designer at an agency;
- Experience with digital projects for (international) A-brands, demonstrated through a portfolio;
- Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and design thinking methods;
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities;
- Demonstrable experience with working in multidisciplinary teams;
- Strong appreciation for aesthetics and familiarity with motion;
- Experience with motion design (Jitter) is a big plus.
- First hand experience with coaching UI experts;
- Strong communicator and working proficiency in English, and German is a plus;
- Experience with transportation, travel or automotive is a plus;
- Availability to start working in or relocate to the greater Hamburg area, Germany.
