JOB PURPOSE

For our office in Rotterdam, we are looking for a Consolidation Specialist who will work closely with all finance-oriented disciplines within the company to join us this year.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading the corporate calendar maintenance and tracking local and global adherence to timelines. 
  • Proactively supporting local finance teams during the monthly close process to ensure actual submissions are completed on a timely basis to support a five day group close.
  • Support the monthly, quarterly and annual close and global consolidation process, working closely with the appropriate stakeholders (local finance teams, FP&A, tax, HR, valuation)
  • Leading the intercompany and elimination processes for the group (relating to the P&L and balance sheet, including equity pick-up).
  • Support the policy for foreign exchange transactions within the group, including review of entity assessments for the determination of the functional currency for all new entities or changes in circumstances. Prepare quarterly CTA validation and OCI footnote. 
  • Perform analysis, make recommendations and prepare responses on consolidation matters. 
  • Support subsidiary compliance with adoption of accounting policies and post acquisition accounting adjustments (acquisition, merger, restructuring) within the scope of the job. 
  • Maintenance of the legal hierarchies, account structure and other metrics/ dimensions of the data model within the consolidation and reporting system to accommodate management needs and external reporting requirements.
  • Support the preparation of the consolidated annual report, including certain disclosures. 
  • Support the performance of review and analysis on group entities and reports.
  • Support the statutory audits of corporate entities to ensure they are performed on a timely basis, including review of accounts and coordination of necessary approval, support agreements and signatures.
  • Interface with external auditors for annual audits, including preparation of required schedule and documentation. 
  • Support the execution of the internal controls applicable to the group control team and serve as a point of contact for control compliance related to the consolidation process. 
  • Participate in special projects or ad-hoc analysis in support of finance department and company initiatives. 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field;
  • 2-4 years of working experience;
  • Highly detail oriented, organized and committed to to a high level of accuracy;
  • Strong focus on customer service mindset with all stakeholders;
  • Curious self-starter who consistently takes the initiative to address questions and build new processe;
  • A strong work ethic, ability to meet deadlines;
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment;
  • Knowledge of and experience with global consolidation experience;
  • Solid interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business partner relationships at all levels of the organization;
  • Strong verbal and written communications with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization;
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor.
