As a Director of Engineering, Mobile, you will have a truly unique opportunity to lead Via’s state of the art mobile apps. We do extraordinary things at Via. We build apps that are used by millions, we build dozens of branded apps through an innovative app generation “factory”, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. You will be responsible for crafting products, technology and delivery. Your day to day involves putting together strategic plans, designing architecture, code reviewing, promoting testing automation and full CI, managing and recruiting brilliant people, leading and mentoring mobile engineering teams. You will ensure high quality delivery with automated test suites, monitoring solutions, CI pipelines.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and execute on a long term vision and strategy for Via’s mobile teams
  • Drive the technical direction and roadmap for mobile development, working closely with cross-functional teams to prioritize initiatives and deliver on business objectives
  • Coach, support and provide feedback for your direct reports to positively impact their career development and growth
  • Act as a subject matter expert in mobile engineering, providing guidance and thought leadership to teams within our R&D center
  • Improve engineering-wide processes and practices in collaboration with other engineering managers
  • Create a culture of excellence, innovation, and inclusion on your team

Who You Are:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing and leading mobile teams—including evaluating technologies, work methods, architecture and design
  • Minimum of 8 years of solid experience building complex mobile apps in IOS/Android/Flutter
  • Experience combining full stack and mobile is a big advantage
  • BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, or any related degree
  • An all-around team player and self-motivated individual
  • Passion for code craftsmanship
  • Experience working on high-scale, production-grade projects
  • A strong leader with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor team members to achieve their full potential
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
