The Smartsheet Control Center Team is looking for curious and passionate Senior Software Engineers who will build enterprise-grade applications within the portfolio/project management space that had 4x growth year-over-year. Control Center has 3 major areas that serve our customers: A feature-rich config management tool which allows power users the ability to create their business processes; A fast and reliable orchestration engine which runs millions of distributed transactions per day; A state management service that alters the behavior or Project assets and ensures the state of the Portfolio is running smoothly and updates are managed at-scale.

Members of the Engineering team work on a variety of projects across the entire stack using a variety of technologies. We are full-service team and use a diverse set of Frontend (JavaScript, TypeScript, React), Backend (Ruby, Java) using Cloud-native services (AWS) across distributed systems.

You will report to our Sr. Engineering Manager located in our Bellevue, WA office. 

You Will:

  • Participate in the entire development life cycle, from concept to release
  • Work with product managers, UI designers, and testers in a team-first environment
  • Develop services that can consume, process and act on millions of user actions within Smartsheet and scale to 100x as our as our customers continues to grow
  • Enhance existing application code with new features and strike a balance when making technical decisions (build vs refactor vs simplify)
  • Provide a secure, high-preforming maintainable code using best practices

You Have:

  • 5+ years software development experience
  • 3+ years web application development
  • 2+ years in cloud-based architecture
  • Experience building scalable, high-availability, and fault-tolerant applications
  • Experience building REST-based APIs
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, a related field, equivalent industry experience, or equivalent educational experience
  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis
