About the Mission-Driven Organizations (MDO) Business Unit 

The Mission-Driven Organizations (MDO) Business Unit (BU) is a business unit within Diligent that provides and supports Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) solutions tailored for the needs of mission-focused organizations such as public sector (federal, state & local government, education), nonprofit/charity, community healthcare and community banking verticals in the North America, Europe/Middle East/Africa, Australia/New Zealand and Latin Americas markets. The MDO organization includes Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success departments, and works closely with the central marketing Center of Excellence teams (Brand, Digital, Social, Content, Marketing Operations, and Events) to execute campaigns across defined geographies and sectors.  

Position Overview

The Product Marketing Manager position is a great opportunity to lead and own Go to Market strategy, within a diverse global team as part of the Mission Driven Organization (MDO) Business Unit (BU). The PMM role works within defined global regions and verticals, specifically responsible for strategy, positioning and messaging for our Governance solutions within the Public Sector (State/Local Government and Education (FED/SLED), charity/nonprofit, community healthcare and community banking markets. The role will work closely with the Product organization to shape our strategy and assist with positioning for marketing campaigns across a variety of channels both internally and externally, and will work closely with the Sales organization to incorporate feedback from the sales process into ongoing messaging, and resource and strategy development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, implement and drive product marketing strategy for Diligent’s governance solutions for the Mission Driven Organizations business unit, including BoardEffect (nonprofit/healthcare/community banking) and Community (public sector/SLED) 
  • Partner with product management to establish and manage user committees/steering committees 
  • Be the central point of contact for all competitive information including tracking market moves, creating battle cards, and developing competitive positioning and messaging to influence campaigns and sales enablement 
  • Work closely with the Product and tech teams to create the vision for all products and influence the product roadmap 
  • Partner with regional sales leaders and teams to influence how the products are positioned during the sales process and identify opportunities to introduce sales enablement tools 
  • Implement a win/loss analysis program for all brands and report out to the business monthly on the findings and recommendations 
  • Assist with creation of toolkits for marketing, sales and CS for all product releases & launches ensuring they are equipped to sell the solution. This includes creating the messaging & positioning by user/buyer persona, developing the sales playbook and supporting materials including pitch deck and product collateral 
  • Work closely with the CoE Content Strategist to identify external marketing assets such as blogs, white papers, e-books, and infographics to support GTM initiatives  
  • Partners with the CoE Enablement team to develop industry sales plays for each solution  
  • Communicates the GTM plan to the MDO Field Marketing Managers and supports resources needed for campaign activation   
  • Communicates GTM strategy to the MDO campaign manager to develop parent campaigns and resources across MDO 

Required Experience/Skills:

  • 5+ years of B2B product marketing experience in technology or professional services companies are a plus 
  • Understanding of US public sector industries (SLED) and related SaaS governance solutions preferred 
  • Ability to build relationships internally and work with key stakeholders and leaders in product management, sales and customer success to define and execute on product marketing strategy 
  • A team player who thrives on collaboration with cross-functional and regional teams 
  • Exceptional planning, organization and project management skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-informed decisions
