Position Overview:  

Diligent Institute was founded in 2018 and serves as the corporate governance research arm and think tank of Diligent Corporation. We provide original, cutting-edge research on the most pressing issues in corporate governance, educational programs and content that equip leaders with the knowledge and credentials needed to guide their organizations through existential challenges, and peer networks that convene directors and corporate executives to share best practices and insights. The Senior Programs Specialist will act as a key contributor to the Diligent Institute team by developing, drafting and editing content for our director and executive education programs, and managing our weekly director and executive-focused newsletter. 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Director and executive customer weekly newsletter
    • Work closely with key partners to collate editorial content
    • Curate Diligent Institute published content aligning to editorial content
    • Review news database on a weekly basis to choose appropriate governance, risk and compliance-based content to include in the newsletter
    • Partner with Diligent’s marketing team on newsletter execution and delivery
    • Manage ad hoc projects related to the newsletter, such as driving subscription, supporting customer success in conveying the value proposition to customers and expanding adoption of the newsletter 
  • Director and executive education programs 
    • Work in partnership with the Diligent Institute Executive Director and Director of Programs on drafting and editing content for new educational programs and content for directors and executives 
    • Work with key partners to include their input and content in educational programs and courses 
    • Identify topics of videos to be included in programs and work with internal stakeholders and partners to outline video content, schedule and review them to provide editing feedback  
    • Build courses in Rise360 as required 
    • Work with external proofreaders and make corrections to content as needed 
    • Keep a pulse on trends and news related to existing programs to identify new content to be added and make edits as required
  • Related responsibilities 
    • Craft email copy and presentations to support internal enablement and marketing campaigns
    • Keep internal teams connected with Diligent Institute projects, such as customer success, sales, marketing and product
    • Monitor market activity to stay aware of the competitive landscape
    • Manage the procurement process for some external engagements such as proofreaders 

Required Experience/Skills  

  • 2-4 years of experience in a position or field that required journalism, research, copywriting, or other content creation 
  • Excellent writing and research skills for educational content - experience writing long-form educational content is a bonus 
  • Ability to manage projects and tasks and work independently 
  • Comfort with actively communicating progress and updates 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time with strong prioritization skills 
  • Experience using office applications such as PowerPoint, Word, and Excel  
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to multitask and meet deadlines 
  • Strong communication skills maintaining positive working relationships with multiple departments 

Preferred Experience/Skills  

  • Degree or equivalent experience in journalism, communications, writing or a similar field 
  • Experience in executive education is a plus 
  • Experience with course-building software (e.g., Rise360) is a plus
