An Events/Engagement Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing employee engagement and fostering a positive work culture. They are responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of events and activities that promote employee interaction and engagement.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Event Planning and Management: Plan, organize, and manage both onsite and remote events, such as team-building activities, social gatherings, workshops, conferences, and celebratory events. This includes budgeting, selecting venues, coordinating with vendors, arranging for necessary equipment, and managing event timelines.
  • Employer branding initiatives support: organising all onsite events and infrastructure for other branding activities, including the company's presence at external conferences.
  • Employee Resource Groups (ERGs): Facilitate, support, and drive engagement in Employee Resource Groups. This includes coordinating meetings, assisting with the planning of ERG events, and working closely with the HR team to support their goals and initiatives. Develop and implement strategies to increase active participation and engagement within these groups, fostering a sense of community and belonging among members. Work on initiatives to grow ERGs by attracting new members and retaining existing ones
  • Engagement Initiatives: Develop and implement strategies and initiatives to boost employee engagement. This includes creating recognition programs, organizing wellness activities, or running engagement surveys.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate event details, updates, and outcomes to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments and teams to ensure that events and activities align with the company's overall objectives and culture.
  • Feedback Collection and Analysis: Gather feedback on events and engagement activities to assess their effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions. This could involve conducting post-event surveys or having informal discussions with participants.
  • Budget Management: Manage the budget allocated for events and engagement activities, ensuring cost-efficiency without compromising the quality of the events.
  • Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring services are delivered as agreed.
  • Compliance: Ensure all events and activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on the outcomes of events and engagement activities, including participation rates, feedback, and impact on overall employee engagement.

You will achieve your best if you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Event Management, or relevant experience in a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in event planning, employee engagement, or a related role.
  • Proven track record of managing both onsite and remote events.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in using event management software and tools, e.g. Excel.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within a corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with HR practices and employee engagement strategies.
  • Ability to analyze feedback and data to make informed decisions.
  • Experience in budget and vendor management.
  • Willingness to travel
