Ready to become a Wriker?

We are looking for a Team Leader for one of our Cloud Ops Teams. If you have a background in either DevOps/SysOps or SRE domain areas, 1+ years of experience leading a technical team, and an interest in the further development of your management skills, then we’d love to speak with you! 

In this role, you will be able to make strategic decisions, mentor, and upskill your team, all while enabling partners with reliable and effective infrastructure and cloud-based solutions. This team operates our Wrike product infrastructure as a part of the SRE unit. It manages Kafka, GCP, and the Kubernetes platform, which is a base platform for many other services and teams.

Your direct manager will be Anton Getmanchuk, Head of SysOps.

More about Your team

We currently have seven people on the team, with five of them located in Prague. The whole SysOps department consists of three teams (20 people). At this moment, we are looking for someone who will take ownership of processes and become a leader and mentor for other team members. 

The team is focused on:

  • Managing Wrike product infrastructure
  • Owning Kubernetes and Kafka platforms
  • Working with GCP and other providers in IaaC paradigm
  • Participating in a single SRE unit with a backend reliability team 
  • Internal processes automation and infrastructure testing
  • Running several product and internal applications

How You’ll make an impact

  • Managing a middle-size team of system engineers
  • Assuming technical lead and ownership of Wrike product and development infrastructures in both on-premises and cloud environments
  • Liaising with other SysOps team leaders on strategy, projects, and day-to-day management of the SysOps department
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members
  • Helping our teams to optimize and automate everyday tasks
  • Guiding the team to successfully meet their objectives

How we work 

  • We run Java, Erlang, and PHP applications in Kubernetes and standalone
  • We use 
    • Nginx, HAproxy, and Istio for load balancing
    • Kafka and rabbitmq for messaging
    • Graylog, Logstash, Fluentd for logging
    • Prometheus (VictoriaMetrics) and Zabbix for monitoring
    • Puppet, Ansible, and Terraform for defining everything as a code
    • Jenkins and Gitlab-CI for making pipelines
    • Python to automate everything
  • GCP, AWS, and Cloudflare are our cloud providers


You will achieve your best if you have

  • Experience with leading a team
  • Strong Linux fundamentals: be familiar with Linux CLI, hands-on experience operating infrastructure for http applications
  • Experience in systems design 
  • Network fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing
  • Git version control system or other VCS
  • High personal responsibility and willingness to grow and learn, as well as a passion for your work

And you will concur our world with

  • Experience with any of System Configuration Management tools (Ansible/Puppet/Salt, etc.)
  • Experience with CI/CD systems and tools: GitlabCI/Jenkins
  • Cloud Technology experience either Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform
