Your mission

As the Director of Commercial Excellence your role is to enable the Operations teams across our 19 markets to deliver on our company strategy and growth objectives. Leading a team of Commercial Excellence managers, your priority is to increase the productivity of the commercial teams in our markets over time, introducing scalable sales approaches that are suitable for the segment and market requirements. You will also ensure that we maintain and grow an attractive workplace for sales talent to be motivated and  perform at their best.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Act as a vital member of the CCO’s leadership team, providing thought leadership to management to help unlock our full growth potential across our 19 markets and full product portfolio (including the Too Good To Go Marketplace, Parcels and end-to-end Platform) by identifying strategic opportunities and areas to drive efficiency
  • Analysing the business to develop long term perspectives on the best ways of operating in markets, and where we have opportunities to improve
  • Defining the roadmap of commercial excellence projects (including scope, metrics, processes, and governance) to enhance our way of operating and increase productivity
  • Owning the Too Good To Go commercial frameworks (such as partner segmentation and tiering models, bonus programs, commercial KPIs, processes, and ways of working)
  • Developing business cases and analyses to underpin recommendations
  • Leading the team to carry through projects with stakeholder buy-in and cross-functional collaboration, and working closely with the Commercial Enablement team in upskilling and change management of country teams
  • Measuring and reporting on the impact of Commercial Excellence projects, reporting to senior management, providing input to the steering committee, and being an active voice in decision making
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve partner engagement, satisfaction, and retention, in collaboration with Product, Marketing and Operations
  • Being a thought leader, challenging and inspiring the Commercial Excellence team to deliver long term sustainable solutions, and acting at speed when needed
  • Attracting and developing a team of strong problem solvers and project managers, and ensuring the professional development of each team member
  • Managing team resources effectively to focus on the most value adding activities
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the commercial organisation

Requirements

  • Significant experience from a similar function (consulting, strategy, operations, or commercial excellence)
  • Analytical and problem solving skills - the ability to breakdown complex problems into pieces, analyse data, and derive logical conclusions
  • A hypothesis driven approach to problem solving, leveraging data, analytics and experimentation to make decisions
  • A strategic mindset, bringing new perspectives and with the ability and desire  to propose new ways of doing things
  • Commercial acumen with an understanding of how to drive P&L performance
  • Clear and concise top-down communication skills (written and verbal), and fluid in English. The ability to develop and communicate a clear vision and strategy for commercial excellence.
  • Attention to detail and high quality output
  • Experience managing and communicating to senior stakeholders in small and larger settings, and building relationships across functions
  • A proven track record of defining and delivering on large scale projects and change management
  • Customer-centric: A commitment to understanding and enhancing the customer experience
  • Leadership experience in managing a team of driven individuals to thrive and have impact
  • Occasional travel required to engage with local Operations
  • The role can be based in Copenhagen or London
