We’re looking for talented people with diverse skills and backgrounds to add to our rapidly growing team. That is where you come in: we’re looking for an exceptional Senior Business Development Manager to join our UK office, based in London. 

Your mission:

You will play a pivotal role in the growth of Too Good To Go UK and the fight against food waste. You’ll use your experience of being in a business development role to acquire and grow partnerships with major-mult food retailers. 

Your Role:

Your primary responsibility is to win new key accounts, with a specific focus on the top 10 major-mult supermarkets. You'll do this by identifying and researching new opportunities, building rapport with senior stakeholders, and ultimately signing their business up to a partnership with Too Good to Go. You will support these accounts through the onboarding and roll out process and continue to look for ways to strengthen and grow the relationship. Reporting to the Head of Key Accounts, you will collaborate with Team Leads from all segment verticals to maximise Key Account uptake of our Food Waste Management solutions,as well as other Key Account Business Development Managers and colleagues across marketing.

The role will include:

  • Pitching: create and deliver high quality, professional presentations to potential partners, and confidently speak about the business and our full suite of software solutions for reducing food waste
  • Business development and pipeline management: independently and proactively outreach in creative ways to gain meetings and build rapport with decision-makers
  • Contributing to & identifying opportunities to strengthen the UK Key Account acquisition strategy, as well as supporting international cooperation across global key account partners
  • Research: independently search for new opportunities, learn about the businesses in depth, map the stakeholders and understand their decision-making process
  • Supporting roll outs: working with the team and the retailer to plan, schedule and execute store rollouts at scale
  • Planning and forecasting: building reports to track performance and identify trends, create financial projections and forecasts for internal planning, pitches and commercial proposals

Requirements: 

  • Proven experience and measurable success as a Senior BDM or Sales Manager selling to the Top 10 UK supermarkets; alternatively, significant retail experience combined with strong business development expertise will also be considered
  • Direct Business Development experience, demonstrating an ability to make connections, create rapport, nurture and win business by selling a proposition to a variety of senior stakeholders up to C-Suite level
  • Solid commercial and network experience working in the supermarket/grocery sector or in food supply chain manufacturers. You should have a strong level of understanding of UK retail/grocer in this sector, and most importantly, be excited by it
  • Ability to lead negotiations skillfully, and create and deliver high impact pitches
  • You’re a master communicator, you know when to speak, you know how to listen, and you know how to engage a whole room and keep their attention
  • Excellent commercial acumen and attention to detail
  • A passion for the mission and raising awareness of food waste & sustainability
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Data Analysis and MS Excel skills to use raw data to create performance reports and projections to identify and understand trends, opportunities and issues
