At Too Good To Go, we have an ambitious mission: to inspire and empower everyone to fight food waste together.

More than 1/3 of all food produced in the world is wasted. And that has a huge impact on the health of our planet. 10% of greenhouse gas emissions come from food waste and loss.

Through our marketplace app, we connect businesses that have unsold, surplus food, with consumers who can buy and enjoy it at ⅓ of retail value. We are a certified B Corporation with a mission to empower everyone to take action against food waste. Alongside our marketplace app, we create educational tools, explore new business solutions, and influence legislation to help reduce food waste.

In this role you will make a direct, positive contribution to our mission every day. As part of the launch team in Australia, the journey promises to be exciting as you will be part of changing the conversation around food waste in Australia and establishing the Too Good To Go brand in the minds of customers and food businesses.

We’re growing fast: Our community of 83 million registered users and 206,000 active partners across 17 countries, have together already saved 276 million meals from going to waste - avoiding almost 609,000 tonnes of CO2e!

In 2023, Too Good To Go was recognised on Fortune's acclaimed 'Change the World' list, named as one of Deloitte's 'Best Managed Companies' and won a coveted 'Cultural Impact Award' at the annual Apple App Store Awards.

We’re looking for a Sales Specialist to join the Sales team at Too Good To Go in Melbourne, Australia.

The Role:

As a Sales Specialist for our Australia launch, you'll play a pivotal role in introducing Too Good To Go to local businesses and forging partnerships that support our mission. You'll be at the forefront of our expansion efforts, engaging with restaurants, cafes, convenience stores, and bakeries to showcase the benefits of joining our platform.

Through proactive outreach via cold calling, email communication, and face-to-face meetings, you'll ignite enthusiasm for Too Good To Go within the Australian market and pave the way for impactful partnerships.

The stores you sign up and support to make their initial Too Good To Go experience positive will continue their food-saving journey long into the future, meaning you will build your own personal legacy within the company and our mission.

This role will have a mix of in-office and field days to balance togetherness, work flexibility and great customer engagement

We are looking for:

  • Engaging Communicators: Confident individuals with exceptional communication skills and a knack for building rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Tenacious Prospectors: Ambitious individuals who thrive in high-volume cold calling environments, with a background in business development or sales prospecting preferred.

  • Results-Oriented Performers: Consistent achievers who excel at meeting both individual and team targets, driven by a desire for impact and continuous improvement.
  • Growth Mindset: Individuals who are adaptable, eager to learn, and committed to embodying our values as we navigate the Australian market.
  • Ownership Mentality: Proactive self-starters who take accountability for their performance, effectively manage workloads, and communicate transparently with their managers.
  • Resilience & emotional intelligence: an ability to bounce back when the going gets tough, support your team mates, and understand the needs of our partners.
  • Additional Language Skills: Fluency in languages beyond English is an advantage.

If you have:

  • An interest in business and sales and a desire to learn
  • High energy and self-motivation
  • First class communication skills - from listening to presenting ideas and persuading
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Driven not only by individual performance but also by the desire to see your team succeed
  • Full Australian working rights (no working holiday visas)

then we’d love to hear from you!

We recognise that every individual has a unique background that brings value, so we don’t require the following specific experience, but it would be nice if you have:

  • Experience in a sales role, specifically outbound sales where you have pitched and closed opportunities over the phone and in person
  • Experience cold-calling, demonstrating the resilience and motivation to achieve high call volumes
  • Experience managing your own sales pipeline and prioritising data based on insights. Having worked with Salesforce is a plus, but any experience using a CRM tool will be useful.
