Wellness Coordinator - Mind Body Spirit
Canaan, CT
The Position:
The Wellness Coordinator will provide the ultimate experiential therapeutic experience for each client while maintaining the highest level of safety and enjoyment for each client. In addition, ensure that departmental goals and objectives are met and therapeutic and safety standards are upheld.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday: 8:00am-4:30pm
Your Role:
- Maintains educational curriculum
- Facilitate yoga, meditation, Qi Gong, and various other spiritually oriented programs
- Provide a range of effective techniques to maximize mind body spirit recovery for the community in a simple, engaging and direct way
- Communicate with clinicians regarding issues related to their clients that come up in groups
- Planning of future experiences and the timely implementation of those events
- Continue seeking training in professional skill set and stay current with certifications
- Communicate with supervisor about any concerns and ask for help when needed
- Ensure that all Aura documentation is completed according to standards with notes individualized, Aura schedule up to date, and all groups completed by the close of the workday
- Program coverage for Wellness program as required or requested
- Facilitating Sweat Lodge experiences as training and experience allows
- Fire tending for Sweat Lodge experiences as training and experience allows
- Lead Hiking & snowshoeing events
- Facilitating High & Low Challenge Course activities as training and experience allows
- Facilitates yoga, meditation, and all spiritually oriented programs
- Continue seeking training in professional skill set and stay current with certifications
- Completing all tasks necessary for client experience in a professional manner
Qualifications:
- Addiction recovery experience preferred
- Certified Yoga Instructor (minimum 200 hours)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a certified Yoga Instructor
- Experience with yoga therapeutics preferred
- Must have a meditation practice
- Must be familiar with qi gong and able to teach a half hour class
- Strong group facilitation skills and professional boundaries
- Ability to be a balanced, introspective & spiritual role-model
- Willingness to work Saturdays and offer day long experiences if needed
Compensation:
The base rate of pay for this position is $20.00 to $30.00 per hour. Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
