Outpatient Clinician

About the Position:
The Clinician collaborates with a multi-disciplinary treatment team to create an individualized recovery experience that incorporates the body, mind and spirit of each client. Provide individual treatment, family therapy, group therapy, and case management services. Coordinate care with external providers and community such as: family members, primary care physicians, psychiatrists, outpatient programs, legal aids, family interventionists, university administrative staff, and employee assistance program representatives.
Monday through Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Your Role:
- Assessing the counseling needs of the clients
- Assessing clients using the ASI or other standardized clinical interview tool, and diagnosing clients for substance use disorders using DSM-5
- Determining the appropriate level of care according to ASAM Criteria
- Obtaining previous records that are relevant to the current treatment episode
- Unless clinically contraindicated, collaborating with the client to develop a written treatment plan that includes goals and measurable objectives, and is client centered, recovery oriented
- Providing the substance abuse counseling services specified in the client's treatment plan
- Reviewing clients throughout the treatment episode according to the ASAM Criteria, to determine the needs for continued services, transfer, or discharge/transfer
- Reviewing and where necessary, revising the client's treatment plan to address ongoing problems
- Developing a client discharge/transfer plan to ensure movement to appropriate levels of care
- Contact, case consultation if necessary, and coordination with referral sources, (for example, mental health treatment providers, criminal justice agencies, schools, employers, DCPP)
- Facilitate group therapy for co-occurring disorders
- Provide individual treatment and family sessions for clients on your case load.
- Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team for assigned clients
- Providing active case consultation
- Documenting all counseling and education services, assessments, reassessments, referrals and follow-up in the clients clinical record, and providing appropriate signature and dating such entries, including those made in electronic records
- Comply with all federal, state and accreditation regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
- Graduate Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, or related field required.
- Hold one of the following CT licenses: LPC, LCSW, or LMFT preferred
- Experience and/or knowledge in substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders preferred.
- Experience in outpatient level of care preferred.
- Experience with group therapy preferred.
Compensation:
The base rate of pay for this position is $70,000 to $90,000 annually. Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
