Staff Psychiatrist

About the Position:

The Staff Psychiatrist shall be a currently licensed physician in the State of Connecticut who is certified or is eligible for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry. The Staff Psychiatrist will work with the multidisciplinary team to assure coordinated and integrated medically managed outpatient care to all clients admitted to Mountainside Wilton. They will provide direct care to assigned clients.  As applicable, the Staff Psychiatrist will help monitor current practices and Addiction Medicine services, as well as providing input and direction in addiction treatment initiatives.

Schedule:

  • Flexible schedule, estimated 10-30 hours monthly

Your Role:

  • Weekly meetings with the multi-disciplinary team to for case consults and review of any program and policy needs
  • Co-Signs assigned Document Reviews in a timely manner;
  • Acts as a resource to Clinical team in providing education and information pertinent to addiction treatment;
  • Upholds all rules and regulations governing the client’s confidentiality;
  • Maintains compliance with Relias Training and other educational requirements;
  • Maintains current medical license, DEA certifications, CDS, Controlled Substance Registrations, CPR certification, and Malpractice insurance, and maintains copies on file with Mountainside;
  • Maintains client medical health records according to regulatory and accreditation institutions, i.e.: OASAS, DPH, CARF, Joint Commission, OSHA and Mountainside policies and procedures;
  • Prepares required reports and completes required paperwork as it relates to the programs and services in the expected time frame;
  • Ensures compliance with applicable State and Federal Regulations regarding prescribing practices;
  • Complies with all federal, state and accreditation regulatory requirements;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • MD Degree - licensed physician in the State of Connecticut who is certified or is eligible for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry.
  • Has completed an US-accredited residency program.
  • Board Certification as applicable.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in addiction treatment in a clinical setting
  • Maintains current CT license including completed all needed staffing requirements to be employed in CT.
  • Experienced in addiction and co-occurring disorders.
  • Maintains a current CPR certification.

Compensation:

The base rate of pay for this position is $2,000 to $12,000 monthly. Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
