Lead Detox Technician

About the Position:
The Lead Detox Tech is responsible for providing a welcoming, supportive and structured community living experience that meets or exceeds client expectations for service during treatment. The Lead Detox Tech will provide managerial and administrative help to the Detox Unit and Technicians.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday - 8:00am - 4:30pm
Your Role:
- Comply with all federal, state and accreditation regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the department to maintain a neat and tidy workspace which meets or exceeds Mountainside’s standards for aesthetics
- Prepare to welcome new admissions by ensuring that all welcome materials are in place and blocked room and bed are clean and orderly according to established standards
- Perform client, baggage and property searches according to established guidelines
- Orient new clients to facility, programs and services
- Ensure that when clients are discharged their personal property and medications are reviewed as well as document their discharge accordingly in the EMR
- Address day-to-day non-therapeutic needs of clients while maintaining a calm, welcoming and professional demeanor and adherence to established standards for “Best in Class” service
- Immediately communicate to Detox Leadership, Senior Clinician and counselors/nurses any behavioral problems or safety concerns which may arise when dealing with clients
- Monitor and document client’s blood pressure, pulse, respirations, and temperature
- Assist with administration and processing of UTox testing samples, including proper documentation in EMR
- Facilitate program groups and other activities as directed, including documentation in EMR
- Review client schedules to ensure accuracy, and booking clients for add-on services
- Complete bed checks to ensure all clients are accounted for, including appropriate documentation in Sigmund/Aura when necessary
- Make frequent rounds to be aware of client activities, give guidance and redirection when needed, to ensure that clients’ behaviors are within Mountainside guidelines and to be available for emergency situations
- Assist with and coordinate the package process for approved packages, including searching all approved packages according to Mountainside’s standards for searches
Administrative/Managerial Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, institute, and maintain productivity and quality standards, through audit and other review mechanisms to assure that policies, procedures, and objectives are carried out
- Report, analyze and resolve system, client and operational issues that impact service quality. Strive to provide all customers with a “Best in Class” client experience.
- Assist staff members with escalating situation, questions, and queries with a sense of urgency
- Implement and measure standardized processes across all aspects of the team. Complete the related audits with accuracy.
- Responsible for ensuring that staff is appropriately trained and have the necessary resources and qualifications to perform their jobs.
- Align the performance of each of the team members with that of the department and regularly provide the needed feedback to ensure that departmental goals are achieved
- Motivate and manage staff to meet and exceed service goals and increase productivity. The end result is to deliver “Best in Class” service reflective in exceptional client surveys as well as future growth initiatives.
- Provides communication and follow up to ensure team members are fully informed of all new information related to procedures, client needs and organizational related issues, changes or actions.
- Manage all areas of payroll, schedules and PTO
- Responsible for all tech scheduling needs, ensuring that there is adequate staffing at all times
- Communicate staffing needs to HR and conduct interviews for potential hires
Qualifications:
- Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician or Medical Assistant
- Minimum 2 years working in a Detox or Behavioral Health Setting
- 3 years’ experience in a Detox or Behavioral Health Setting. Experience in a leadership role
Compensation:
The base rate of pay for this position is $21.00 to $26.00 per hour. Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
