We're now accepting applications for the 2024 School Year.

Teachers who want to change the world come to Guidepost.

We’re rooted in the Montessori tradition, which means we believe in an open work period where children choose what to work on and work at their own pace. We bring structure to that schedule with a coaching-based approach to help children plan their own goals each day, using a work journal as a personal schedule and the adults in the room as guides and accountability partners. We also recognize that when approaches like that go wrong, children don’t learn. So, we’ve invested years in extensive curriculum development to ensure rich and comprehensive curriculum across mathematics, geometry, literature, grammar, biology, chemistry, physics, art appreciation, handwork, and more. And we have an accredited teacher training program to teach that curriculum to our “guides” along with the skill of running a classroom in a way that is at once fully individualized and fully engaged and productive. That training program will earn you a diploma that is recognized world-wide.

Are you a passionate, Montessori-trained teacher?  Do you want to be part of a team of people working to grow the Montessori movement?  Join our team and lead your very own Elementary classroom in one of our beautiful campuses across the United States. Because we open schools year-round, we accept applications on a rolling basis. This means that we'll contact you just as soon as we have an opening that looks like it might be a fit for you!

In this role, you'll create and lead a model classroom.  Through your efforts, parents will see what's possible for their child when authentic, high-quality Montessori is alive and well in the prepared environment.  You will be provided with a full set of high-quality materials from leading manufacturers, along with a classroom budget to make your classroom unique. We have an amazing team of AMI-trained Montessori Mentors who will be available to lead professional development, provide feedback, and help develop your skills even further.

We offer competitive salaries, health, dental and vision insurance, as well as a generous tuition discount.

Our elementary program is truly unique: a mixed-aged Montessori community, with first through sixth graders learning alongside one another in a rich social environment. It continues the Montessori approach of practiced autonomy and self-mastery; of highly individualized lessons and extended periods of concentrated work. Within that framework, we embed a sequence of classical academic content in the humanities and the sciences. Learn more about our approach to elementary education here.

Are you fresh out of training?

Joining our team is an opportunity to learn directly from an experienced Lead Guide in a mentor/mentee capacity, giving you the rare opportunity to develop, practice, and refine your newly learned skills in a safe and nurturing environment. Work alongside our Mentor Guide until you are ready to branch out on your own! We also have a phenomenal team of experienced, AMI-trained mentors working on our central team, providing support to each of our elementary classrooms across the country.
