Higher Ground Education is bringing on a Facilities Maintenance Lead to help support and manage our schools’ facilities for our Northern Virginia schools!

These are important roles for the Facilities team, and we’re looking for customer-oriented individuals who are both a clear-communicator and strong technical skills. Responsibilities

The Facilities Maintenance Lead is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks. We are looking for a Jack-of-all trades who can do small repairs and troubleshoot issues that can be resolved with a "Do It Yourself" fix for the schools buildings and facilities. Performs general cleaning and other tasks as assigned. This is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position, reporting to the Regional Manager. Must be able to work flexible hours

 The Facilities Maintenance Technician will

    • Paint, remodel, refurbish areas as needed
    • Repair, maintain/monitor all equipment and amenities
    • Change all filters for HVAC as required
    • Oversee janitorial, trash removal, landscaping and pest control
    • Maintain exterior of property, including snow removals
    • Prepare classrooms for incoming classes
    • Change light bulbs, interior and exterior as needed
    • Manage utilities and other vendor services within the region
    • Perform other work-related duties as assigned
    • On call maintenance for all facilities in region

Skills

We’d love to talk to you if you have…

  • High school education or equivalent
  • 5-8 years in facilities maintenance
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task
  • Excellent communication and follow-through skills
