We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our growing R&D center, contributing to innovative technologies for Acronis Backup.
Our team focuses on integrating Acronis Backup, the company’s flagship product, with various virtualization platforms to enable seamless backup and restore operations for virtual machines and hypervisor hosts.
As a key member of our team, you will tackle a variety of challenging issues across fields such as:
- Deep diving into VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, Virtuozzo, and other hypervisors to resolve platform-specific issues.
- Developing expertise in file systems (e.g., FAT, NTFS, Ext, XFS, ReFS) to improve management and parsing.
- Understanding operating system boot sequences to ensure cross-platform bootability during VM backup and restore.
- Integrating with cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle, Amazon, and XenServer.
We’re looking for a motivated professional with a strong desire to learn, who can work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to tools and applications that enhance the experience of thousands of end-users worldwide.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Test client-server applications designed for backup and recovery in virtualization environments.
- Analyze feature requirements and verify that product functionality aligns with those requirements.
- Design, deploy, install, and maintain internal virtualization infrastructure used for testing.
- Collaborate closely with development team leads and architects to understand product requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and execute manual tests based on functional specifications and design documentation.
- Troubleshoot virtualization-related issues, analyze performance metrics, and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with the automation team to prepare analytics for automated testing scenarios and analyze test results.
- Diagnose and resolve application, hardware, OS, and networking issues, providing root cause analysis.
- Analyze customer issues, investigate root causes, and participate in technical discussions with the R&D team.
WHAT YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
- 3+ years of experience as a QA Engineer.
- Deep understanding of Quality Assurance principles, methodologies, and techniques.
- Strong grasp of website development methodologies and quality processes.
- Familiarity with REST/JSON web services.
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows OS, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Basic programming/scripting knowledge is an advantage.
- Experience in developing test cases and reporting.
- Understanding of computer architecture, data structures, and IT security basics.
- Familiarity with virtualization systems.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Organized, efficient, and capable of working independently or within a team.
- Upper-intermediate English proficiency.
