Who we are looking for
You will be responsible for overseeing an entire value stream within our manufacturing process, from raw materials to finished products. Our flagship large-scale manufacturing site in New Kensington offers agile, world-class full-scale production capability to small and large contract manufacturing customers, and supports development of our constituent businesses' own products and processes. This role will ensure that all production processes run efficiently, meet quality standards, and achieve delivery targets. The Value Stream Leader will lead a cross-functional team and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational performance.
What you get to do
- Lead and manage the value stream team, including production supervisors, operators, and support staff.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
- Collaborate with other departments, including Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance, to ensure seamless production flow.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks, quality issues, and other operational challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other relevant methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Develop and manage the value stream budget, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
- Train, mentor, and develop team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What you bring to the Team
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and other manufacturing software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt is a plus.
