Re:Build Fikst, LLC (Fikst), a Re:Build Manufacturing, LLC (Re:Build) company is a growing product design and engineering consulting firm located in Woburn, MA. We work with pioneering clients to develop their technology, design their products, and bring those products to production. Fikst's areas of expertise include biomedical instruments and consumables, microfluidics, specialty plastic design, optics, industrial automation, and design for manufacturing. We have extensive in-house laboratory and rapid prototyping capability including CNCs, 3D printers and laser cutters, all of which helps facilitate our ability to prototype and innovate fast.

Who is Ensorcell?

Ensorcell is a new business launching within Re:Build Manufacturing. Incubated within our Fikst business, Ensorcell is developing a line of innovative products to serve the laboratory, bioprocess, and cell culture spaces with a mission to improve productivity and technical efficacy in these areas  . We are seeking a General Manager to lead the effort to drive these innovations to market and build a new member company.

Who we are looking for

Reporting to the CEO of Re:Build, supported by an advisory board drawn from within Re:Build, thwill spearhead the development, commercialization, launch and profitable growth of new Re:Build products in the Laboratory and Bioprocessing space. You will have access to significant design, engineering, and manufacturing capabilities across the Re:Build companies and it is expected that they will fully use these entities for the development and commercial delivery the various product offerings.  As the business develops, you will build dedicated resources (personnel, facilities, processes, etc.) to support Ensorcell’s mission  ; an approach Re:Build has successfully undertaken previously.

What you get to do

We seek a creative and motivated General Manager with experience in laboratory and bioprocessing markets to build the Ensorcell business and position it for significant growth. This role will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business plan to establish Ensorcell’s presence in target markets, develop an expanding portfolio of new products, and drive profitable sales. Make use of dedicated and Re:build resources as necessary to optimize business growth and profitability.
  • Own the P&L and lead the team to make solid operational and financial decisions to meet production, sales, income, and cash flow objectives.
  • Develop pricing and channel strategies for the portfolio of products – which may be different depending on the market and product category.
  • Use industry knowledge, contextual research, and direct input from customers to drive product requirements, commercial insights, and marketing plans.
  • Lead all aspects of ongoing research projects in the technology sector at Fikst, coordinating efforts based on market trends and our expertise in innovative technical solutions.
  • Evaluate total addressable markets and target markets; Conduct/drive advance sales to verify revenue potential and secure lead customers.
  • Partner cross functionally to gather and synthesize relevant inputs needed to build strategic and tactical plans for pricing, promotion strategy, advertising support, etc.
  • Understand distribution, market opportunity and volume potential to develop bottoms up sales and operating plans and to deliver against those objectives.
  • Nurture customer and partner relationships and support new product development with market needs, trends, and user insights.
  • Develop comprehensive launch plans to bring new products to market on time and in a way to increase market potential.
  • Explore, develop, and manage potential partner relationships – which may include strategic customers, marketing, branding, distribution, or supply chain.
  • Set and track achievements, breakthroughs, and critical path monitoring and management for product launches and ongoing operations.
  • Partner with Operations to manage production capacity to support sales growth over time.
  • With support from Re:Build, drive process improvements that enable the business to scale efficiently.

What You Bring to the Team

  • 10-15 years of business leadership experience in life sciences, biotech, MedTech, or similar fields
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, life sciences, or equivalent
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in management or engineering a plus
  • Experience working in a physical product development and commercialization environment
  • An adaptable and collaborative approach that thrives in dynamic environments
  • Demonstrated performance in leading successful new product launches
  • Highly motivated, with a bias for action and passion customer engagement
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills – written, verbal and visual
  • Experience working with an array of functional teams (finance, engineering, sales, production, quality, etc.) to achieve a set of common goals
  • Organized and in possession of demonstrable analytical skills
  • Strong financial competence
  • Start-up or new business building experience is a plus
