At Re:Build Answer Engineering we have extensive experience with new concept-aircraft development on both piloted and autonomous aircraft and spacecraft platforms. We work in the major fields of aircraft-engineering subject areas, including structures, mechanical systems, environmental control systems, aerodynamics, aircraft modifications, repairs, and serviceability. Our specialties include airframe structural design and analysis, composite materials and processing, configuration development, systems installations, and compliance or requirements development. Our engineers integrate seamlessly into a customer’s engineering team, immersing themselves in the project and ensuring success and customer satisfaction.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a highly motivated and results focused business development professional. You will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities in the aerospace, urban air mobility, and space industries. Your primary focus will be to identify design, development, engineering, analysis, prototyping, testing and certification service opportunities within these commercial and government industries. There are two areas of secondary focus: (a) capturing sales opportunities in adjacent markets, including land-based vehicles, high-difficulty structural and mechanical engineering problems involving substantial analysis and (b) identifying opportunities at the customers you engage to provide other services and production services from throughout the Re:Build organization.

This is an exciting opportunity for an impactful role, one in which you will enjoy considerable autonomy and variety. The Director of Business Development is an integral part of the team responsible for new business development and client relationship management. Sourcing and securing interesting and challenging work for the growing stable of engineers at Re:Build Answer Engineering (also known as Answer Engineering) is integral to our continued success as a business and to attract and maintain an elite pool of engineering talent.

The position requires a highly motivated, “roll-up your sleeves” professional fluent in engineering, the markets we serve, and client relations. This is a very hands-on role supporting Re:Build Answer Engineering both in terms of identifying and closing clients, as well as working with our marketing team to develop outbound marketing activities (e.g., trade shows, white papers, etc.). This is a high visibility role with impact across the organization.

  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients within the markets we serve. You will develop a comprehensive understanding of their needs, challenges, and industry trends, and use this understanding to drive revenue growth for Re:Build Answer Engineering.
  • Leverage various channels, including networking events, industry conferences, online platforms, and referrals, to generate leads and build a strong pipeline of potential clients. Proactively engage prospects to initiate business discussions.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and collaborators at client organizations. Understand their goals, technical challenges and strategic objectives to position us competitively.
  • Conduct thorough needs analysis and understand the technical requirements of clients' complex systems. Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, production, and project management, to develop tailored solutions that address clients' specific needs.
  • Prepare and present compelling proposals and presentations to prospective clients, highlighting the value proposition, technical capabilities, and competitive advantages of our engineering services. Negotiate terms and conditions to secure new contracts.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to negotiate and finalize contracts. Ensure that all terms and conditions are aligned with the client's requirements and company policies. Drive the contract signing process and effectively close deals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies related to our markets. Leverage market insights to identify new business opportunities and position our company as a leader.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure successful project execution and client satisfaction. Provide feedback from clients to enhance internal processes and service offerings.
  • Work closely with site and corporate marketing teams to promote awareness of our capabilities and experience. Support content development, message creation, and presentation materials. Provide input and feedback on industry trends, client activity, and competitor tracking. Lead and support campaigns to drive messaging and business.
  • Leverage Customer Relationship Management tools to develop and maintain complete and accurate information regarding your sales pipeline. Provide forecast information and work with the management team to ensure that business opportunities meet financial criteria.

What you bring to the team

  • Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in business development or technical sales (or a minimum of 5 years in business development or technical sales combined with an additional minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in aerospace or related fields), preferably in engineering services, contract manufacturing or advanced manufacturing environments in the aerospace, urban air mobility, and space markets.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct Composites experience 
  • BS degree or equivalent experience in an engineering or technical field (electrical/ mechanical / or manufacturing engineering).
  • Deep understanding of engineering services
  • Demonstrated success in driving business growth, meeting sales targets, and closing complex deals. Proficient in consultative selling, relationship building, and negotiation techniques.
  • Industry Network: Well-established active network within relevant industries mentioned above.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.

Location Requirements

The job is located in Englewood, CO or in close proximity with regular in-office time in Englewood, CO.

Salary: $95,000-$143,000
