About the role:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Regional Data Center Manager to oversee our data center operations in an assigned region. The Regional Data Center Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, coordination, and management of various data center facilities. The primary objective will be to ensure the successful delivery of data center builds while maintaining the highest standards of efficiency, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data center operations, hands-on experience in data center management, and a track record of managing staff effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of data center leads, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Manage staff schedules, assignments, and performance, ensuring optimal workforce allocation and productivity.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback, training, and development opportunities for team members.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of all data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, networking, and security systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to plan and execute data center builds and expansions.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and deployment of data center equipment and infrastructure.
- Ensure timely completion of data center projects, meeting quality standards and budgetary constraints.
- Regularly conduct safety inspections and risk assessments, taking appropriate actions to mitigate potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to data center operations.
- Monitor and maintain the overall health of data center facilities, proactively addressing any issues that may arise.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- At least 5-7 years of hands-on experience in data center operations.
- Minimum 1-2 years of prior experience in managing staff in a data center environment.
- Solid understanding of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, networking, and security.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for data center operations and management.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Proven project management abilities with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of cloud computing technologies and virtualization is a plus.
- Certifications such as CDCP (Certified Data Center Professional) or DCM (Data Center Management) are advantageous.
