What we're looking for

As the Chef Success representative in Los Angeles, you will perform both hands-on and administrative tasks in support of our Chef teams. Formal culinary training or professional experience in the food and beverage industry with an emphasis on recipe development and testing is highly preferred. A strong knowledge of global cuisines and ingredients, large scale food production and professional cooking environments will be highly advantageous. A successful candidate will have excellent attention to precise detail, solid organization skills, communicate clearly and effectively and seamlessly follow process steps.

 

Responsibilities

  • Chefs

    • Respond to inbound inquires, and organize as point of contact during preliminary steps of Chef onboarding and recruitment process
    • Track and report on status of Chef applications
    • Scheduling - interviews, trials, facility tours training pre-sales planning, and onboarding timelines
    • Provide administrative support to the CMS manager throughout each phase as needed
    • Work with local culinary managers to proactively collect ingredients and packaging for timely execution of all product testing
    • Coordinate and liaise between internal and external stakeholders, such as Procurement, Quality Assurance & Food Safety, Nutrition & Regulatory, tech and CX when responding and fielding requests from Chefs and team leads
    • Work to bolster and and keep evolving the Chef Community for your local market
    • General status reporting on Chef teams in local market
    • Partner with Chefs to meet their goals and grow their business on the platform

    Menus and Recipes

    • Assisting manager and Chefs with the the meal life-cycle from conception to market launch; working with independent chefs to improve the quality of the dish and the consistency of the process.
    • Calculate, enter and validate scalable portion yield recipes
    • Coordinate new ingredient sourcing and substitution
    • Conduct recipe evaluations based on a defined set of targets and metrics
    • Submit and track new recipes, recipe edits, and new ingredient SKUs
    • Schedule recipe tastings and audits
    • Weekly collaboration with CMS manager and Chefs on culinary innovation and meal and menu performance
    • Provide administrative support to the CMS manager throughout each phase as needed
    • Partner with the other teams to design quarterly menus that align market, customer, portfolio and company data and needs

Qualifications

  • Ability to work in both menu development and production environments
  • Strong data collection, communication and problem-solving skills required
  • Experience working in food industry, ingredient and sourcing knowledge, particularly in regards to recipe development, batch scaling, edible portion yields, auditing etc...
  • Have the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment - skilled at planning, organizing, prioritizing, and executing multiple projects and activities simultaneously.
  • Experience with data entry, a food production enterprise resource or recipe management software, food labeling and compliance programs, GSuite and Slack.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Chef and other CU stakeholders on important nutritional label compliance, ordering and scheduling information.
  • Optimistic, resourceful, and ready to take on any challenges
  • Agile problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively
  • Talent for communicating, influencing, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Charismatic leader with a passion to unite people together and build community.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English a huge plus
