The Role

As a Director of Warehouse Operations you will contribute to the success of CookUnity by enhancing our Ingredient Handling operations, with a focus on developing processes that reduce food expenditure, improve meal quality, streamline site operations, and enhance our HACCP compliance.

You will work closely with the Supply Chain, Chef Success and Site Ops teams to improve day-to-day operations, including: ordering, receiving, inventory management practices, implementation of the “distribution model,” and purchasing & recipe data management.

Responsibilities:

  • Set and establish our hyper-growth company's materials handling processes from A-Z: handling materials from food to packaging to cleaning supplies
  • Implement Inventory Management (IMS) technology into our operation to develop accurate real-time inventory capability
  • Develop Processes for Supply Chain Data Validation:
    • Identify and quantify recipe, yield, and portioning discrepancies
      • communicate across the Supply Chain/Chef Success/Ops teams to ensure perpetual data improvement
    • Improve inventory stock-taking processes across markets
  • Operational Improvements: ownership of the delta between theoretical and actual food spend in All Markets
    • Establish & implement standardized ingredient receiving practices at all locations to ensure efficiency and freshness of ingredients
    • Review site layouts to develop optimal storage and handling of ingredients
    • Focus on the “Distribution Model” deployment across all food categories (Protein, Produce, Dairy, and select Dry Goods) and markets
  • Train Market teams to ensure that they have the skills required to successfully manage our ingredient needs.
    • Provide staffing coverage for Marketplace teams as needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of management experience in a similar role, such as a management of a Grocery store, warehouse, or procurement department experience
  • Multi-Unit/Food warehouse/Grocery Store Experience
  • Experience in food procurement and extensive food handling knowledge
  • Experience in inventory management
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented
  • Understanding of food safety and quality standards
  • Ability to train and inspire employees to perform at their best

 

Requirements:

  • Must be able to deal with stressful situations and environment
  • Must be able to accommodate flexible working hours including early morning, late night, weekends and holidays 
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and push and pull up to 100 pounds
  • Work in temperature-controlled environments
  • Able to work onsite 50% of the time (NY, LA, Chicago)

Compensation

All final pay rates will be determined by candidates experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

$110,000$150,000 USD
