Your Role in Our Success

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our plant systems and equipment. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to :

  • Conducting regular preventive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal operation.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing any issues that arise during production to minimize downtime.
  • Restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
  • Inspecting and examining machinery (conveyors, packers, seasoners, sensors, PLCs, VFDs, etc.) to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Performing maintenance tasks such as cleaning and lubrication according to work orders.
  • Adjusting machinery and repairing or replacing defective parts.
  • Conducting troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment breakdowns.
  • Setting up, taking down, and relocating processing and packaging equipment.
  • Staying on call for emergency repairs of production equipment.
  • Following safety and food safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • This job description will be reviewed periodically as duties and responsibilities change with business necessity. All job functions are subject to modification.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  •    Post-secondary education in a mechanical trade.
    •    4+ years of experience as a field service technician or in a similar role within a food manufacturing environment.
    •    Strong skills in automation and troubleshooting.
    •    Good judgment, decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    •    Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
    •    Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
    •    Availability to work rotating shifts, extended hours, and weekends as needed.
    •    Welding skills (considered an asset).

Your Work Environment

In your role, you'll be working in a shop environment exposed to potential hazards such as greasy, slippery factory floors and hazardous materials. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level is usually moderate. Our commitment is to provide a safe and supportive workplace for all employees. 

Note : You will be hired as a temporary employee for one year with scope of becoming a permanent employee on the basis of your work performance and ability to take responsibility and work with minimal supervision.
