The Role / Position Overview
We are looking for a talented Learning and Development Partner / Sales Trainer to join us here within the Financial Times’s Learning and Talent team, on a maternity cover fixed term basis.
The Global Commercial Learning and Development Partner will own the delivery of the commercial development strategy, supporting a population across our commercial business areas, working in particular with our Advertising department.
Key Responsibilities
To enhance the skills, knowledge and capabilities of our revenue-generating functions and teams. To help commercial business leaders plan for the future workforce and support all areas of the employee lifecycle.
You will do this through delivering the established commercial development strategy. You will understand the context, the market, the customers, the products, and the competition extremely well. You will be instrumental in executing a winning plan, an innovative blended approach to delivery, and be a master at collaborating to ensure successful outcomes. Knowledge of core commercial skills, latest technologies and blended learning will enable you to do this. You will be adept at leading and bringing people with you and will be able to draw on a number of development strategies that benefit a digitally-focussed commercial team, at all levels.
You will make sure real progress is made every month and have a pipeline of actions planned at least three months in advance. You are disciplined and will report monthly to your stakeholders about the performance, issues, and opportunities of your area of responsibility. You will take pride in high quality learning solutions and demonstrate the direct impact and delivery of successful outcomes; both strategic and tactical.
Required Skills / Experience
- Experience in designing and delivering learning interventions, particularly commercial skills training
- Experience in delivering training both in-person and online
- Strong ability in interpreting data to identify department performance improvements and demonstrating impact to commercial teams and business
- Strong relationship builder, with experience in working alongside HR BPs, the wider Learning and Talent team and business heads
- Confidence with tools and techniques to use with individuals and teams, such as psychometrics and facilitation methodologies
- Strong problem solver and solutions focused
- A strong growth mindset.
