Role Overview
Performs editorial support role such as creating charts and graphs
What will you be responsible for?
- Creates charts and graphs
- Responds to requests by other FT editorial offices
- Creates audio transcripts with a high level (at least 70%) of accuracy
- Adds pictures, multimedia and links to articles
- Sub-edits articles as assigned
- Helps update media platforms
- If tasked with comment moderation, helps ensure that reader discussions follow FT community standards
- Helps to improve the team spirit and internal work relationships
- Performs other functions as instructed by the team leader and/or manager
What skills do you need to be successful in this role?
- Excellent oral and written English grammar
- Proficiency in Adobe creative suites (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects)
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and working with statistical data is an advantage
- Works with minimum supervision, has sound news sense and is able to make crucial editorial judgment calls
- Keen eye for detail, ability to spot errors
- Adaptability to new work processes
- Can work fast yet maintain a high quality of work under tight deadlines
- Team player with good communication skills
- Willing to work the night shift schedule, including weekends and holidays on a hybrid work arrangement (2x on-site and 3x work from home)
