Bit Reactor is looking for a Prop Artist to be a part building out our corner of the galaxy.  You will be working directly with the environment and level design teams to create beautiful props that flesh out our environments and are authentic to the Star Wars universe.  The assets you will be making range from hard surface to organic models that are visually impressive yet performant.


Responsibilities:

  • Create standalone and modular environment assets varying in scale and complexity
  • Model assets using reference photographs and concept art
  • Work with the Lead Environment Artist to create high quality environment assets that adhere to the project's visual direction
  • Produce assets within performance specifications
  • Review and implement your work in game
  • Investigate asset issues and edit through feedback
  • Collaborate with Level Design, Lighting, VFX and Tech Art

 

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in the game industry
  • Experience with contemporary game engines
  • Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • A strong understanding of shape, form, and composition
  • Proven abilities in optimized 3D asset creation
  • Solid experience of PBR workflows
  • Proficiency with industry standard modelling tools such as 3D Studio Max and Maya
  • Experience working with Photoshop and Substance Painter
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • A desire to learn and improve as an artist 
  • Experience with tiling textures and trim sheets

Bonus:

  • Experience working on a AAA title, especially a console title
  • Strong knowledge of Modular asset creation techniques
  • An understanding of the relationship between art and level design
  • Experience working within Unreal Engine 4+
  • Set dressing and beautification pass experience

 

Candidates will be expected to provide a portfolio or demo reel of their work and may be asked to complete an art test.

Bit Reactor prefers to hire candidates who are willing to relocate to Hunt Valley, Maryland, but is open to remote options.
