What We Need

We are looking for a Senior Manager of Monetization Strategy to join the 2K Product and Monetization team and work on brand new AAA IP. Our goal is to ensure this game offers engaging experiences, positive player sentiment & community relevance, and sees financial success. You will ensure our players feel valued and rewarded for their time & purchases!

Your role will be responsible for developing the commercial strategy and execution for in-game content, pricing and promotions, performance reporting, and optimization. You will partner closely with the studio and cross-functional publishing teams to deliver on our desired outcomes each season and across the long-term.

What You Will Do

  • Strategic planning and execution for In-Game and 1st Party Store
    • Own strategy for seasonal rotating store
    • Develop pricing and promotion plans for in-game content
    • Develop year-long strategies around themes and financial goals/targets
    • Manage in-game store performance and execution of strategy in collaboration with cross-functional teams
    • Develop performance contingency plans and scenario playbooks
  • Derive learnings and insights from actuals, and drive week to week and month to month optimizations as a result
  • Manage a team of analysts running the in-game store and monitoring key KPIs for the health of the economy
  • Develop key daily and weekly KPIs to measure the health of the store and our business, in order to track our expected performance against financial goals
  • Report on a weekly basis, focusing on key KPIs, tailoring them to specific audiences ranging from Senior Leadership to cross-functional collaborators
  • Work alongside cross-functional partners, share data & insights, in order to find new ways to serve the needs and desires of our players
  • Develop company wide presentations in conjunction with commercial and product partners in order to report on the overall health and trajectory of our business

What Will Make You a Great Fit 

  • Passion for video games, and working understanding of live services mechanics and strategies across AAA genres and franchises in the market today (both premium and free-to-play)
  • Experience breaking down long term strategies and complex problems into attainable measurable short term goals and tactics
  • Ability to hypothesize, test, and share results, developing learnings to optimize future strategies
  • Ability to interpret data and industry trends to develop hypotheses on driving customer engagement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify, structure, and communicate information to all levels of the organization
  • Strong process & project management skills with 5+ years of experience in Business Planning, Lifecycle Management, management consulting, corporate strategy, or other related field
  • Experience building and leading a small team, mentoring and developing talent while guiding multiple threads of strategy
  • Experience identifying, communicating, managing, and mitigating risks
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience

Bonus Points 

  • Experience working with Live Service games and Free-to-Play titles
  • Economics or financial background
  • Experience with Tableau (SQL/Snowflake is a double plus)
  • Understanding of user segmentation, targeting, and A/B testing

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $100,000 and $160,000 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department.
