What We Need
An experienced PR professional to execute global communications plans for 2K titles, with a focus on the non-sports side of our portfolio. Someone with proven media relations experience, particularly among endemic gaming and consumer tech outlets, a track record of collaborating cross-functionally with marketing teams like brand, social, influencer and community, and has a deep well of knowledge in the gaming and entertainment spaces.
What You Will Do
- Reporting to the Director of Communications, you will serve as a primary executor and project manager of global communications campaigns for select 2K Core Games (non-sports) franchises.
- Lead the tactical execution of these plans in market by managing agency partners on day-to-day execution and serve as liaison with internal stakeholders.
- Proactively manage and deftly balance multiple initiatives and timelines, each involving and supporting multiple internal marketing and business teams.
- Coordinate with international territory leads to drive storytelling in a broad range media verticals, with an executional focus on North America-based outlets.
- Pitch and coordinate with media on key storytelling initiatives, like pre-briefs and feature stories.
- Monitor and analyze key campaign performance indicators and leverage insights and audience feedback to improve current and future campaign performance.
- Work in partnership with influencer, social media and community management colleagues to integrate marketing opportunities.
- Set, meet, exceed and report against measurable objectives and drive comms and cross-functional reporting for key beats.
- Regular travel to game studios and external industry events as needed for comms planning and executions.
Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit
2K is looking for a PR professional with experience launching video games and a personal passion for 2K’s Core Games franchises (Borderlands, Mafia, BioShock, Civilization, etc.). The ideal candidate is a media strategist and project manager with experience collaborating on cross-functional plan developments and leading media relations execution. The person has experience with (or at least a strong interest in) implementing a data-driven approach to communications strategy. The candidate is also versed in and has experience working with social and content platforms like YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok, and has collaborated closely with brand marketing, influencer, social media and community counterparts in the past.
- A minimum of 5+ years of public relations work experience, including experience launching video games. PR agency experience and knowledge of video games industry is strongly preferred
- A demonstrated track record of securing coverage across media verticals as well as managing reactive press and community needs
- Strong passion for pop culture and video games
- Excellent organization, interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills. Ability to build strong, lasting professional relationships with internal partner groups and individuals
- Ability to anticipate necessary next actions and accept responsibility for moving projects toward completion
- Strong PC skills, including Google Suite and Microsoft 360. Familiarity with social listening and video analytics tools like Meltwater, as well as social content platforms like YouTube/Twitch/Discord, is strongly encouraged

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $91,100 - $134,840 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
