What We Need
The Global Communications team is looking for an Associate Manager, Communications to execute global communications plans for 2K’s award-winning sports titles, including NBA 2K, WWE 2K, PGA TOUR 2K and TopSpin 2K. This role will support the Senior Manager, Communications in executing communication strategies and media relations campaigns to enhance each franchise’s global presence, driving awareness and game sales. The ideal candidate will be passionate about gaming and sports, and possess strong communication skills with a proven track record in public relations or corporate communications.
This position will be based in Novato, CA: hybrid, 3 days a week in our Novato HQ
What You Will Do
- Reporting to the Senior Manager of Communications for NBA 2K, you will serve as a primary executor and project manager of global communications campaigns for NBA 2K across console and mobile.
- You will also support the Senior Manager of Communications for 2K sports franchises including WWE 2K, PGA TOUR 2K and TopSpin 2K, executing communications and media relations campaigns across the full 2K portfolio of sports titles.
- Actively participate in management of the external PR agency to execute strategic and successful PR campaigns.
- Write and edit press releases, Q&As, fact sheets and other PR materials.
- Draft pitch materials and guidance documents for international subsidiaries and agency teams.
- Pitch media, build and maintain media relationships across gaming, tech, entertainment, sports and general consumer media.
- Work closely with marketing, community, social, developer and international teams to coordinate global communication efforts.
- Contribute to and drive reporting on results.
- Manage speaking and press opportunities for Ronnie 2K around 2K Foundations, NBA 2K, and industry panels/events.
- Proactively manage and deftly balance multiple initiatives and timelines across multiple franchises, each involving and supporting multiple internal teams.
Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit
2K is looking for a PR professional with experience launching video games, ongoing lifecycle management and a personal passion for sports and 2K’s sports game franchises. The ideal candidate is a media strategist and project manager with a strong list of established media relationships in the gaming, entertainment, consumer lifestyle and tech industries.
- 3-5 years of public relations work experience, with experience launching video games a plus. PR agency experience and knowledge of the video games industry is strongly preferred.
- A demonstrated track record of securing coverage across media verticals as well as managing reactive press and community needs
- Strong passion for and knowledge of the NBA and gaming space while being tapped into sports, lifestyle, fashion, and music culture
- Excellent organization, interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills. Ability to build strong, lasting professional relationships with internal partner groups and individuals.
- Ability to anticipate necessary next actions and accept responsibility for moving projects toward completion
- The ability to continually evolve, drive, and maintain processes needed to ensure that the comms team continues to drive innovative communication campaigns across 2K’s sports portfolio.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $69,900 and $103,440 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
