What We Need

The User Experience Research (UXR) group at 2K employs an array of methodologies to give developers the feedback and tools to make better games. We are a team of passionate, diverse gamers who know, analyze, and play not just our games, but all games to identify trends and to go beyond the numbers to provide insight and recommendations with our research.

We are looking for a  temporary User Experience Research (UXR) Assistant to help conduct and moderate playtests in our Frisco, TX research lab. This role involves working closely with research participants and other members of the UXR team. Primary responsibilities include moderating playtests, observing participant behavior, helping to conduct player interviews and group discussions, and analyzing survey feedback and other qualitative data.

We are anticipating this assignment to last approximately 6 months.

If you have knowledge of or interest in video games and want to help conduct impact research that informs game development, then this position might be for you!

 

What You Will Do

  • Work with UX Researchers to help conduct and moderate PC and console playtests
  • Communicate instructions and provide assistance to participants
  • Observe and take notes regarding participant behavior via live and recorded video
  • Assist with player interviews and group discussions
  • Analyze and summarize player survey and verbal feedback and other qualitative playtest data
  • Contribute to research reports
  • Become familiar with mechanics and features of in-development game titles

 

What Will Make You A Great Fit

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel/Powerpoint/Word or Google Sheets/Slides/Docs
  • Ability to summarize, analyze, and communicate large amounts of written feedback and qualitative data
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and/or objectives simultaneously
  • Passion for video games and gaming

 

Bonus Points

  • BA/BS in Cognitive Science, Experimental/Cognitive Psychology, or related field
  • Experience with survey (e.g. Qualtrics, Survey Monkey) and qualitative analysis tools
  • UX or other social science research experience
  • Proficiency with PC hardware and current-generation game consoles
  • Experience using game streaming software
