Sounds great, what will I be doing? 🤔

As our VP of Data Engineering Reporting to the CTO and working closely alongside the SVP of Engineering, you will define the technical strategy and oversee the implementation and operation of a world-class data pipeline. To accomplish this you will lead a team of c.40 engineers and work hand in hand with product management to ensure alignment with the overall business & product strategy. Responsibilities include overseeing existing data pipelines, managing budgets, and leading and mentoring a team of software, data, and machine learning engineers. You will drive project planning, provide technical guidance, and promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Your role includes resolving technical challenges, communicating with stakeholders, recruiting top talent, and leading communities within the broader technology function, particularly in machine learning and data engineering.

What do I need to bring with me? 🧳

You’ll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you’re willing to learn. Here’s what the team will be looking for:

👉 Extensive experience leading a technology team responsible for data solutions/products. The ideal candidate will have led a team responsible for building and operating a data platform that ingests multiple data sources (real-time and batch) to be published directly to customers, or indirectly via a SaaS offering. 
👉 Line management of teams >25 including different disciplines (software, data & machine learning). The ideal candidate will have international experience
👉 Ability to strategize and make informed decisions on technical architecture, tools, and frameworks to drive data processing, scalability, reliability, and performance.
👉 Proven track record in successfully planning, executing, and delivering complex software projects within defined timelines and quality standards.
👉 You clearly demonstrate an agile approach to everything, with a growth mindset…you fail fast, learn and adapt
